My mortgage broker was okay with a cash back happening on the purchase of a home. This lawyer fought with the mortgage company so much about it that they decided to force the cash back to go towards the cost of the house. Mortgage broker had already released the funds and they still insisted on getting them to change their decision. I don't know who they work for, but they are clearly not interested in their client's happiness. Happened to myself as well as another military member that was posted in this year. What a joke. Note, cash backs are perfectly legal as long as the mortgage lender is aware of it and okay with it, which they were.
