What do you expect from a bank located in downtown Winnipeg? Massive lineups on Mondays since many nearby banks are closed? Check The usual crush of people during any break or lunch hour? Check Random homeless striking up conversations with you in line? Check A surprisingly smooth flow of customer traffic despite the above? Oh? Incredibly personable and informative staff? Yes, please This was my Monday morning in a nutshell. I came in on what I was informed was the wrong day of the week after making a joke about the line to Sheila, the teller that assisted me. It would be easy to be frustrated working here on a Monday, and even easier to treat every client like the next waste of 5 minutes of your life. We're all guilty of it. Despite it being Monday morning; despite the never ending line; Sheila was all smiles and nothing but personable. She made some useful recommendations to me based on the situation I described to her and even more importantly, talked to me person to person - not teller to client. If someone from this location is reading this, give Sheila a pat on the back, a "good job", a raise, whatever it is you do at RBC to show appreciation to your employees.

What a bad experience. Felt like I was being interrogated. And they didn’t do anything to turn the guy around. Long line up typical bank experience. But that one event caused me to switch banks. I am Cibc all the way! Citi place, check it out. And please people do everything you can online. Learn, share, repeat.

I thought this bank was a good one but this past few weeks I have had trouble with specifically this bank on 370 Portage. The branch manager was not sympathetic to my banking situation and kept saying I was not a victim of fraud, though I am. I am super frustrated and confused. The bank tellers did their best to help me and suggested ways I could fix my banking problems so that's the good part of this bank but the branch manager,unsure of her name, was really rude and did not want to help me at all. Instead she was very judgmental and accused me of something I didn't know was fraud. I'm 19 and have never dealt with this ever so I'm pretty confused and sad that I couldn't get ANY help from any of the RBC employees. Very disappointed and I will be opening a new account elsewhere.

They do not deserve one star. i have been with RBC for past seven years and this branch manager made me to close all my account with RBC very bad service!!...Thank God I'm with the Scotiabank now...
