Oh this is a well situated conference centre with all the essentials needed for events of all sizes. I was speaking at a conference for the Canadian Association of Bookkeepers, and flew in to participate. I had never been here and was thoroughly impressed. The ease of locating the rooms, the open spaces for mingling plus the comforts of the workshop rooms. Loved this space and hope to come again soon! Cheers, Spicy Jan
The Hungary-Pannonia pavilion-nDelicious food and dancing cheer,nA taste of Hungary, warm and clear.
The car show world of wheels was outstanding.nThe food venue In the concourse was disgusting.nThey served poutine ...nHow do you screw up poutine?nI have celiac and I asked if the fries were coded and if the gravy was gluten free and they had to phone downstairs to the kitchen The people that they had serving had no idea what I was talking about. You should have people trained with people with allergies and disorders if you're going to serve food I don't think any of these people knew what the hell they were doing. They certainly didn't know how to deal with a complaint because the next day I saw other people back in line complaining about the exact same thing. So obviously my complaints the first day went unnoticed I had a horrible night because of it. Obviously they don't take people 's autoimmune systems seriously, I mean that's a health issue as far as I'm concerned and then we find out through some of the people at the car show that there was a guy with a food truck, a pop-up food truck serving the most amazing grilled cheese sandwiches with pulled pork and it was gluten free on day three. We were able to get our hands on them and they were outstanding. Didn't have a problem and they were able to accommodate people with gluten intolerance. Why was that guy shifted off looking after a bunch of dancers that aren't going to eat a grilled cheese sandwich anyways because they're worried about looking like a pencil. And meanwhile you've got 20,000 people looking at cars at a car show who are obviously going to be in that demographic to eat that kind of food and they get served garbage. Wow! I later discovered that the RBC convention center it was their kitchen that was serving the food. Obviously they were just trying to make money off volume quantity over quality. Absolutely disgusting poutine though I couldn't believe it and when I see other people in the line the next day complaining about gluten issues and them not having rectified the problem or at least telling people that it wasn't gluten free. Well, whoever was in charge of that should be fired. I'm sorry I don't like to get people fired but they should have been fired. That is a health hazard. The salads looked good. I wanted to try one the next day but after dealing with the outright lie to my face I wasn't going to give them any of money. Do better next time. RBC convention center if you had a good quality product and segregated them to one area that was a lost opportunity. As far as I'm concerned the car show was fantastic, but next time I think I'll bring my own lunch
A nice place with lots of different rooms sizes for events. It's also connected to many different areas in downtown which makes it convenient to get to and from. The second floor has a cafe and seating area which are very nice and open. A great place to grab a quick bite while navigating downtown.
We have had the opportunity to work with many of the staff and event planners at the RBC Convention Centre over the past 5 years. Grads, corporate events, weddings, and Christmas Parties and each event we have been wowed by the staff. They are friendly, helpful and quick to respond.nWe love that they have specific loading docks that makes it so easy- especially trying to setup in downtown Winnipeg.nTonight we are doing Vincent Massey’s Grad and working with Sandra was wonderful. A few changes needed to be made on the fly and she made them happen. She responded very fast to my emails and was a pleasure to work with!! Thank you for making our set-up easy! We are always excited to work with RBC and their amazing staff!!
