The beach with a wide view has a charming view. It takes about 20 minutes from the beginning of the trail to the place where the sea is surging. The trail is gentle and comfortable, and people come in droves from afar to see the wide and flat coastline. The public facilities are complete, there are toilets, children's play area, dogs can walk on the trail, however, can not enter the prohibited area. This is a very good place to recommend to everyone.07/09/2022
Amazing beach with warm waters. We went on a mild day so was worried it might be to cold but the water was so pleasant it was nicer to be in the water than outside. When it’s low tide the beach just goes on and on making it great for the kids to play without having to worry about them going in to deep. Even though there is a lot of people there is so much space between people that you feel u have your own little section. There is a nice picnic area behind the beach very shady and toilets close by. Best Beach yet.
One of Vancouver Islands best provincial parks. Lots of space between wooded campsites, flush toilets and hot showers. And a beautiful beach to top it off. What more could you want?
Great campground, not too noisy, and very clean. The fire rings needed maintenance as they had not been dug out for a long time. But the outhouses were fine and the beach was lovely and accessible from any site.
An amazing vista, fabulous trails, and lots of room. You can walk out far into the Strait and enjoy the sand and wildlife. Lots of parking, some great picnic spots, and beautiful trees.
There were too many flies on the beach; they must be the algae. I watched the sunset here at the end of summer. It was amazing. The trail from the camping ground to the beach is easy and short. The campground has showers, flushable toilets and lots of commodities. There is a security guard at the entrance checking reservations; It is very well organized.
Amazing provincial park with lots of shoreline. Sandy beach on one side and lush trees on the other side. Lots of picnic benches, a playground and gravel trail to take a stroll on. During low tide the tide is way out. Lots of parking and easy to get to from parksville or Nanaimo.
Beautiful campground. Each site is well treed and rhe beach is amazing. Clean pit pockets and a central building with nice and free showers and flush toilets. This time of year is much quieter with lots of sites available. My site a14 was so close to beach you can hear the waves.
extremely nice sites. has late self check in if you don't have a reservation. nice clean bathrooms with free showers. the sites are private with woods everywhere, and our site was pretty level. it was quiet and relaxing. easy to get to right off the ferry
Same as ever with a mile of sand at low tide. Ironically, I took a bit of a wrong turn and ended up in a housing development that has a mini golf course I don't recall seeing before. My pics are at 6am so it was nice and quiet. There's a treed section, a path for walking near the beach edge with wooden fence, some picnic tables in the trees, bathrooms pit toilets I think and water tap. The parking lot seemed smaller than I remember and looks like they turned some parking into RV style campsites. The campsites don't view the water, but you're fairly close to the beach if you're not physically broken and can haul your stuff there. From the day use parking, I walked straight to the beach and back because there was a sign saying no dogs. I'm not sure if they have a section that's dog friendly or not. Even after a few decades of rare visits, this beach is still impressive!
