The views are amazing, the stroll along the lake is lovely, and the walkways are clean and broad. There aren't many benches nearby, but that's okay. The parking lot is quite large and flat, so it's simple to spot the empty parking. The restrooms are near the park's entrance, and they're not horrible. Though the lake is my favorite, the waterfall is worth the walk even on the less busy weekdays. If you like, you can go camping as well!
Absolutely beautiful here, walk by the lake is beautiful and the paths are clean and wide, the views are great, not a lot of benches around if you want to sit and enjoy the view but it’s okay, parking lot is very big and flat so it’s easy to spot the empty parking, the bathrooms are located on the entrance of the park, they are not bad. Weekdays are not too busy but weekends are very busy, the waterfall is worth the walk, but my favorite is the lake! You can also do camping if you want!
Great county park, huge area with amazing sights especially waterfall and lake. To walk to the waterfall isn’t taking very long and it’s nicely shaded so you can manage in the sun. Plenty of parking. You can also do fishing if you are so inclined. It was our first time visiting and we loved it. Would love to go back and further explore. Just be careful because there is poison ivy abound. My son got some in the face.
One of my favorite hiking spots for years, Ramapo offers tons of trails for beginners all the way to experts. The trails are clearly marked, and some are less traveled than others. You can see rivers, creeks, waterfalls, arid cactus cliffs, mountainous ridge rows, darkly rooted moors, and everything between. Lots of dog walkers and friendly pups are always a highlight. The litter is a shame, if you see someone littering please chastise them.
Really good hiking. We did route B which took us 3 hours. I think it's better to go during the weekdays because there are fewer people
Beautiful park. Dog friendly. Great place to hike with a variety of trails and difficulty. Pretty waterfall that’s easy to get to. It gets very busy during the day so parking can be difficult. Bathroom facilities are rough. Bring your own toilet paper and soap.
I really enjoyed this hike, I can't wait to go back and try the other trails ans actually I would go back to this which was the yellow trail . Restrooms: Portable Dog-friendliness: Leashed dogs
I hiked every trail here. By far the best area for hiking in New Jersey. Incline hiking trails are intense. Bring lots of water. Nice cold oranges or cold clementines are great snack here. Creeks, rivers, and lakes are refreshing and beautiful. I never seen a bear or coyote. Lots of dear and foxes. I did see a rattlesnake long time ago deep in the woods. Very large snakes are here so stay on trails. Very easy to get lost if you don’t know the trails. Blue trail is intense and about 2-3 hrs depending on breaks. Awesome views! Will get very busy. Tons of dogs off leash. Go before 9am. I enjoy going at 6-7 am to see sunrise.
Love to jog the trails here so many treasures to explore. There are public restrooms, and port-a-johns. They removed the overall trail map from the billboard. Unless you have a electronic map you can't know all the ins and outs if the trails.
I saw this heading back from the waterfall trail on the yellow vista loop. I reported it to the NJ Department of Agriculture the day I saw it. It was my first time seeing a spotted lanternfly.
