Raj Singh is a one-of-a-kind master in the lost art of bespoke tailoring and a true treasure for the city of Toronto. I was referred to him by colleagues at CIBC World Markets, and have never turned back since the first suit he made for me still turning heads some 6 years later!. I left Toronto 5 years ago, and still I get my suits and shirts exclusively from this gentleman...I have yet to find a better tailor and prices are very reasonable considering the Saville-row level of quality and service your receive. No need to ever get your face ripped off buying a suit from Harry Rosen or Holt Renfrew ever again! You can feel the amount of work and exquisite attention to detail in each handmade suit, as Raj makes the effort to get to know his clients so that he can create something that fits their style and body perfectly, and with quality fabrics that will last for years with proper care. Classic or fashion forward, Raj does both with ease and definitely has some flair of his own!. He provides lifetime service for his craftwork. I truly feel like I look my best when I put on each of my Raj suits...and yet each is very different in its own right. I can't wait until I get my next prime ministerial-looking suit from this man. There's also nothing better than to support local small business in your hometown. But this is truly an experience I cannot recommend enough for anyone who cares about their business & formal attire and/or is in need of a fine wedding suit. Give Raj a visit and you too will never turn back!
Purchased my first custom suit with Raj and I can say I have nothing but good things to say about him. You can tell he really cares about his craft, and every suit he’s made for me fits like a glove to exactly how I want it. I’ve gotten to known Raj over the years — he’s more than a tailor to me now, he’s a great friend/mentor and has taught me a lot about life! And I will be forever grateful for that. If you’re looking for a great tailor, great quality suit and a great price.. look no further. He’ll make you look like a star!
I have recently purchased a suit from Raj Singh and I must say my new suit, his craft, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. This isn't easy for me to say since it took me months to contemplate leaving my previous tailor. I highly recommend Raj Singh, especially if you work on Bay St as he has considerable insight into what's being worn on the street by virtue of his client book. Will be seeing him soon enough.
I had an alternation done on my suit coat and pant from Mr. Raj Singh the owner of this business in October 2017. After 2 months December 2017 when the job was completed, I wore my suit to a Christmas party and noticed the interior stitching was loose on both the pant and coat. When I contacted Raj, he said he couldn't do anything about it as I did not mention it earlier. Seriously? I haven't even wore the suit after I picked it from him. I went to another tailor who did a significantly better job and charged almost half the price of what Raj Singh charged. People, please don't go here. I should've read the reviews from others before coming here. I only went to him because he's only steps away from my workplace.
When getting a suit from Mr.Singh you are not just making a purchase you are singing up for an experience. Raj puts his effort, love and soul into each his pieces. He is the definition of hard work and perfection. I’ve had Raj design several suits for me and they have all turned out phenomenal. I highly suggest Mr.Singh to anybody that is aiming for a stellar suit fairly priced made with impeccable attention to detail.
I took a sports jacket for alteration to Raj. He took my measurements and said it would take 1 week for the jacket to be altered. Sure enough, one week later and it wasn't ready. Raj advised he was busy with other work that's not my problem and said it should be ready within 2 days. 2 days later, still wasn't ready and he promised it would be ready within 24 hours. 24 hours later, it was ready. However, the jacket was too tight and it wasn't fitting me properly. At that point, I was just plain mad and asked for a full refund. He refused to refund my money and said he will make it right if I give him another 2 to 3 days. I said "no"! All I wanted was to get my money back and go to another tailor. He then began to argue with me. I paid him $50 for the alteration and in the end, I had to take the jacket to another tailor who did a far better job in just one-day. I didn't receive the service I paid for. Raj, you are a thief and I hope someday karma gets you back. Never spend your hard earned money with this crook. Raj is extremely rude, unprofessional, and disorganized. I am of the opinion he has very poor time management skills. This incident occurred almost a year ago but I thought I'd write a review as I wore my sports jacket today. I have to reiterate, PLEASE DO NOT GO TO RAJ FOR ANY KIND OF WORK.
Absolutely loved working with Raj on a custom sports jacket he tailored for me. Perfect fit, amazing attention to detail, and genuine interest in wanting me to feel great in the blazer. That's what separates good tailors from great. Oh and he doesn't send the work to China to get done like many other overly expensive custom tailors in the city. All of it is done here in the GTA by seasoned vets in their craft I had the opportunity to meet a few of them during the whole process. Would highly recommend Raj to anyone looking for high end tailored clothing.
The singularly worst customer service experience I've ever had. I was looking for a new bespoke tailor and decided to check this place out. I ordered a navy blue wool overcoat for $750 and was told the fitting would be in a couple of weeks and that he would call me. I had to call myself to follow up on the fitting as I was not called for it. Finally, once the coat was finished I tried it on and noticed immediately that it was too tight in the arms and across the back, such that I would not be able to drive a car wearing the coat without breaking stitches. Rather than being helpful in wanting to make sure the coat was to my satisfaction, Raj repeatedly questioned why I wanted it looser and would provide no guidance on how he could alter it to make it work better for me. Finally I asked for the arms to be widened near the shoulders and he grudgingly agreed. I returned the next day to find the coat still far too tight across the top of the back for me to be comfortable in it. When I brought this up Raj began to argue with me about adjusting the coat to my satisfaction. I even offered to pay for his additional time to adjust the coat the way I wanted it, and yet he still insisted, while disparaging my clothing and my knowledge of tailored clothing. Finally he relented and agreed to let out the top of the back and i collected the coat the next day, it FINALLY fitting me the way I wanted. The notion of having to argue with Raj over doing what *I* wanted on a *custom tailored* coat being made *for me* that *I was paying for* simply beggars belief. Spend your money ANYWHERE else.
After much searching in Toronto for a tailor for my wedding suit, I came across Raj from a recommendation from the a Toronto fashion design/construction insider. Raj has been making bespoke suits for decades in Toronto, even serving the media industry in the city for some time, with a number of his suits appearing in TV and film. Your purchase from Raj includes multiple consults/fittings to get the perfect fit. Raj guides you through the entire process and walks you through steps you'd never think of, which I've seen missed at other "bespoke" tailors in the city. Come in with a good idea of what you want, or no idea at all, and Raj can get you a suit you'll love. ALL construction is done by Raj and his team in Toronto. There is zero outsourcing here. I loved the idea that local care and attention was put into what is a very intimate garment. I purchased a suit at a higher price point, and I appreciated that the money was paid towards Toronto's local craftspeople. On the suit itself, I had a two piece teal-blue suit made with Scabal fabric debatably the highest-end cloth merchant in the world, though he offers an impressive range of different levels of material. We took 1 consult and 2 fittings and it fits FANTASTICALLY well. You know what they say about perfectly tailored suits: "Tight enough to show your form, loose enough to breakdance in." Since it was my wedding suit, Raj also documented some of the process in photos and videos along the way. Very cool to see the suit pieces drawn out in chalk before being cut and assembled. You won't get extra touches like this elsewhere. As far as being up to date on men's styles, Raj is focused on very classic and timeless looks, which we discussed for hours do you know the difference between an English, French, and Italian tailored suit?. However, he's able to pull off much more "on trend" styles if that's what you're looking for. He has all the right source materials for you to peruse at his studio. Overall, I cannot recommend Raj's service more. I've done my research and used other tailors in the city, and Raj is at the top. Pro Tip: Raj actually has a second, less-advertised by-appointment location at First Canadian Place, right downtown, incase you need to be seen for fittings somewhere more convenient to downtown.
Raj is not a "bespoke tailor"...he is a "bad joke" tailor. He fitted my husband for a made to measure suit and it not only was riddled with mistakes, it fit terribly. We put in the order earlier this year and it took nearly a month and a half to make and the saddest thing is my husband had to keep calling Raj to follow up where as he should've been following up with us! It was the poorest quality suit I had ever seen. Buyer beware-- this is not a case of you get what you pay for a cheap suit, but you get ripped off with poor customer service when he screws everything up. I don't know how people like this stay in business
