Rainbow Motel Montpelier

My husband and I booked this Motel in the morning before embarking on a 15 hour journey home with our young daughter from Pennsylvania to Iowa. When we arrived to this hotel the experience was horrible. The room reeked of smoke and mildew, I peeled back the covers on the bed to reveal that the sheets, although they looked laundered had stains dotted all over them, probably from being laundered whilst stained. The tip of the iceberg was finding a roach near the shower drain. Being exhausted by a 9 hour drive with a 13 month old we tried out best to get the attention of the front desk lady who seemed to be the only employee working. She was on her personal cellphone talking to someone else in a different language the whole time and couldn't be bothered to even help address this issue. Our phones were dead because of the long drive and we couldn't take pictures of what we experienced. We promptly left our key on the front desk and left for the quality inn a bit aways which was amazingly clean and accommodating. I've tried contacting the hotel about this and they said that the room was clean and that we stayed and they won't refund us. I even have proof of my reservation at the quality inn showing we stayed there from 9/15-9/26 instead of The Rainbow Motel and they still refuse to refund me. I have filed a dispute with PayPal and my Debit Card Customer Service to get the refund we deserve for the accommodations that we did not receive.

Two bed bug bites, previous guest's hair on a towel, a window (on the 1st floor) that wouldn't lock.

A little bit of nostalgia just off the Turnpike. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly, water pressure is amazing! Oh and they service coffee in the office in the morning.

Clean and homey. Cable and WiFi. Friendly staff. Good cheap lodging.

Dirty run down motel. Terribly uncomfortable. I do not recommend it.
