So happy we made reservations 6 months in advance. Excellent service, beautiful surroundings and one of the best steaks I’ve ever enjoyed. Try the smoke trout appetizer and lobster pie!!
Unfortunately for our party the steaks were just not good. The chef cooked and seasoned they to perfection, but they were tough. The mushrooms on top where burned black smudges. The red skin potatoes had to be cut with a steak knife. The French onion soup had way too much cream and made it just taste milky. See steak photo
Haven't been since preCovid and was surprised by how few tables they have in the dining area now. Could be a cautious, health thing or lack of available waitstaff. Dinner was excellent as always sadly this establishment remains the only consistently good restaurant in a 50 mile radius. I am not saying you won't get a good meal somewhere else in that radius but will you get the same good meal and service everyday you go there? Doubt it. The North Country has many wonderful things to offer but in the last 10 years those consistent restaurateurs here have disappeared. We need a small to medium size excellent menu where the items are the same fabulousness everyday, all day, which requires a great kitchen manager who trains their cook staff about consistency and builds a sense of honor and respect with all staff so they stick around. Keep hoping more of that type will land here and stay
The lobster bisque was out of this world. The baked haddock and millcove pie were fabulous. Melanie is an exceptional waitress. She is sociable and very attentive. Prices are reasonable and portions are huge.
Can't tell you enough how great this place was. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and our service. Definitely recommend getting reservations. We chose to reserve seats in the tavern area.Food: 5/5
Good hearty food and excellent service. The food has quality ingredients and ample portions. Prices are higher for norther New Hampshire but the quality of the mean more than makes up for it. This is a must visit for a nice evening out and a great meal with family or friends.

My husband and I enjoyed dinner here for my 25th birthday last night. It was a wonderful experience. Last time we were up here for our honeymoon but it was during mud season and everything was closed. We were happy to be able to have dinner here this time around. Our server, Melanie, was cheerful, helpful, and very sweet. The food was delicious and came out perfectly, as far as timing. There was enough time to enjoy each component appetizer, soup/salad, entree, etc. before the next item came out. I would highly suggest this restaurant! It's homey, the tables are close enough that we enjoyed conversation with a few couples who were also vacationing, but separated enough to have private conversation, too. It was an overall beautiful dining experience and we will be back every time we make the trip up here! Thank you Rainbow Grille!
We have been visiting your restaurant for many years and in that time have been served by many. Mostly is was a good experience. What made our most recent visit so pleasurable was our waiter. His name was Chris S, this new face on your staff was very impressed. Very knowledgeable of your menu, and even some of the history of your restaurant. Chris paid attention to detail from his introduction to wishing us safe travels on our way home. Chris is a great value to your team, and if he was not so dedicated to you I would have tried to recruit him. I will be back soon. Thank you, Adam.
