We went to see Avatar on a Tuesday and the tickets were only $6.50 all day. That’s like $2.00 an hour, Bonus! They don’t have reclining seats but their seats were comfortable and clean.
Good prices, nice service. The popcorn is alright not the best. It is an old theater so don't expect a reclining seat or a big slope but the seats are comfy. They also do provide booster seats for kids.
My favourite popcorn for the movies! Prices are good compared to other big name theatres.
Met a fella named Dylan behind the counter. I'm a bit a picky guy when it comes to my popcorn, and he was willing to humor my daughters ever changing needs. In the end helped lead us to the kids' combo, really made her day!
Prior to the Pandemic we lived in Toronto. We watch a lot of movies at the big Cinemas even the best IMAX theatre doesn’t compare to the Cobourg Theatre. I absolutely love the movie clip of the dancing hotdog that proceeds each movie. The popcorn is the best anywhere. None of the theatres in Toronto even come close. The staff are amazing. If you enjoy the movie experience in a real theatre the rainbow cinema in Cobourg is the place to go.
The only redeeming qualities about this theatre are the admission prices. The concession stand is not good in terms of the popcorn tasting a little stale and a coffee made with a Keurig costing $4.00! I could probably overlook these things, except the chairs are so uncomfortable and just too close together. Not to mention how small the theatre itself is. IMO, it is worth the drive to Clarington or even Peterborough or Whitby. Especially if you want to go for a drink, coffee or even dinner. When you come from a late show and the latest is 7:00 p.m. there is virtually nothing to do. It's redeeming qualities are the proximity to home, friendly staff and decent admission prices. You may be better off going to the Port Hope drive-in!
Friendly staff and really nice local theater. I enjoy watching my movies on a big screen and this is an amazing local place to go to. Human size theater always clean and specially now perfectly safe to go to with the sanitary measure in place. For people complaining about the price of snacks, you have to understand that movie theater don't make a lot of money at all with the admission. Everybody has to make a living and it is perfectly fine with me. I have to say their popcorn is absolutely delicious
Not only is this theatre located in the worst, most dead mall in all of Ontario, it might also be the worst theatre in all of Ontario. The staff was friendly and the snacks were good, but it doesn't make up for the cheesy atmosphere and the poor picture quality. Unfortunately this is the only movie theater in the area so if you can make it to the closest Cineplex theater. I would recommend it instead.
I great local theatre. Not a big overpriced cineplex or AMC. For regular movies it’s our go to. Prices are great and concession ok. I go to Whitby for the Avatars and Top gun movies for the IMAX only.
Always a good atmosphere, good movies, and affordable concessions.
