We arrived around 9pm so only the bar menu was being served reasonable for a Sunday! - we ordered most things from the menu - veggie nachos, deep fried pickles, mozza sticks, fries, onion rings, The staff were wonderfully friendly and very attentive! Thanks!
Ragged Rocks has a well deserved high rating. Great service, great food, highly recommended. We had the RR Burger with a huge Garden salad and the Scallop Toutons. Pair it with some Iceberg beer and a glass of wine and you will have an excellent meal. You Gotta Eat Here.
Had Lunch on the deck of Ragged Rocks yesterday it was a very hot day so we enjoyed a light lunch on the deck under an umbrella. I had a Lighthouse Salad which is basically a garden salad and my wife had a Caesar Salad with Chicken. Portion sizes were good and the salads were fresh and very good. I chose the house made Blueberry Vinigrete which was amazing on the Salad. This is a very nice pub in the heart of Bonivista ... it was not our first visit and we have enjoyed good food and hospitality when we visited. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp on side of building by outside deck.
Nice clean restaurant. I ordered the seafood chowder delish! and it was enhanced by drinking Iceberg beer. My son ordered the moose burger and said he liked it. The food was good but I wouldn't say exceptional.
We ordered two ''Mighty Moose'' burgers for take out one with side salad, other with fries. Honestly one of the best meals we've had in Newfoundland. Very friendly staff too. Best restaurant in Bonavista in my opinion.
We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was here. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend the Moose Burger and the scallop toutons.
We had supper at Ragged Rocks a couple nights ago while visiting Bonavista. I messaged the night before asking if I could make a reservation. They said they don’t take reservations, but I mentioned that I’m a wheelchair user and it’s hard to find somewhere to eat so they made an exception for us. I also asked if our server could wear a mask because I’m medically vulnerable and would like that extra protection while I’m eating and can’t wear my own. So when we showed up for supper, all of the servers put masks on while we were there which made me feel safe and cared for. I have food allergies that they were awesome about and they worked with my dietary restrictions to ensure I had a delicious meal that wouldn’t make me sick. I had the salmon bowl and it was great. I also had a strawberry rhubarb mojito which was so good! In terms of accessibility, it was pretty great. We parked in an accessible spot next door, there was a ramp up the side of the building, lots of room to maneuver my wheelchair inside and the washroom was decently accessible. Only issue was how heavy the side door and washroom door were. Overall though, I loved it there and would return. Amazing service and food.
First off the service was pretty good but this place needs to do something to absorb noise inside. There was a table of eight there before us and were so loud my wife and I could barely hear each other. My wife enjoyed her chowder but my ribs were definitely under cooked. I know these are cooked well in advance of being ordered but properly cooked ribs should easily come apart when you pull on them, I needed to use my knife. However long you cook them for add 45 minutes I'm a trained cook and not joking
This is the BEST fish & chips we ever had !!!! Their fish is fresh and it is very nicely prepared -- crisp on the outside and tender within. We even ordered a second plate of fish and chips to share just because it is sooo great. The moose burger is tasty as well. Definitely WILL recommend to anyone who visit the peninsula.
My goodness the cod fish and chips are fresh! We also had the scallop toutons, crab dip, moose burger, ribs, and seafood chowder and all were delicious, plentiful and fresh. Lots of room in the restaurant for larger parties we were 9 and the service was A+++ and oh so patient with the kids when they ordered and explained their allergies!. Great spot for local food, highly recommend.
