Very good and charming place to eat an excellent meal. Right in the middle of old Québec city by the water. The outside patio has lots of seating and inside the restaurant is so beautiful as they kept the original state of the building. The service was very good and the food was excellent. Everything tasted fresh and of high quality. The prices were very good and on part with other comparable restaurants. We had the chance to eat on the patio overlooking the St.Lawrence river on the night of the fireworks competition… it was a magnificent end to our night. Bravo !
My experience at Rafaella Ristorante in lower town Old Quebec City left much to be desired. The only redeeming quality was its location, which provided a nice view of the area. However, the service was a real letdown. Our waitress disappeared after initially greeting us and seating us. She reappeared after an inexplicable 15-minute absence, but didn't even bring menus to our table. It took another significant wait for her to return and inquire about our order. The inefficiency was puzzling given the lack of a busy crowd in the restaurant at that time. The food, unfortunately, didn't make up for the service. It was unremarkable and far from something to rave about. Moreover, it took nearly an hour for our meals to arrive, and as mentioned earlier, the restaurant was not crowded. This extended wait only added to our disappointment. To top it off, the waitress's attitude took an abrupt turn when she presented the bill. It was a stark contrast to her initial demeanor, and not in a positive way. All in all, while the location was nice, my experience at Rafaella Ristorante was marred by subpar service and underwhelming food.
Maybe we went there for lunch during the long weekend so we received very disappointed experience. All restaurants were fulled except this place that was so empty , so we gave it a try. The food took 55 mins to come out. The 2 tables that came after us were served and about to leave before we received our first dish. To be exact, radiatore a ragu took 55 mins. The worst part was the tasteless soup that took almost 1.5 hr to be served. Pasta was good but not good enough for the wait time. The servers did not refill water even once.
I'm Anthony, Tour Bus Driver with a group of 42 guests. We were served the soup within 5 minutes of being seated. However, waiting too long for the main course & desert to arrive at our tables!Food: 4/5
Very underrated! The service was slow but the waitresses were very nice and were apologetic about the wait. They could have been understaffed on a Sunday. The mozzarella sticks were really nice and the rose sauce was very tasty. The profiteroles are great to share very big!
This was our spot during our exploration of Old Quebec! We had lunch here twice and the food was amazing! We ate inside once as well as outside! Atmosphere was very friendly! Wait time for food I thought was normal especially for a busy lunch hour! Highly recommend!!
Well… we stumbled upon Rafaella after one of our other favorites was full. Well … it was meant to be!! Let’s start with the food, the Rafaella Burger was DELISH! Those home cut fries are some of the best I’ve ever had. I can only imagine how good their parmesan fries are. The only comment about that dish is that that the Caesar salad could have been prepared in a separate dish. The dish with the creamy garlic and pepper sauce, was very peppery but good. The dish that stole the evening, the gnocchi with creamy Gorgonzola & bacon sauce. Wow! Ps try the Mozzarella Fritti. Tip: ask for marinara AND Alfredo sauce to dip them in. Fantastic
Excellent restaurant. Couldn't find French cuisine anywhere so we chose Italian. Service was top of the line with a server built like a vessel of the same class. I hope the gnocchi is homemade because it's second best to my aunt's recipe. The partner had the bolognese and left full and satisfied. Great portion control, flavorful, and authentic. Luckily the weather held and the patio was open to walk-ins. Whicker seating allows a great view for people watching and the odd avian dive-bomber. I think it would be good for groups too as we saw a party of no less than 30 people get escorted inside without any drama or interruption to the guests already present. Well managed place. Kid-friendliness: Witnesses a special order made specifically for a kid.
A wonderful place for dinner. We sat by an open window onto the square and the atmosphere was fantastic. We are a family of 4 kids are 16 and 13 visiting from the UK and is one of the best places we've eaten on our holiday. The pizzas and pastas are great, the steak was perfectly cooked. And the desserts are amazing religieuse with vanilla ice cream in the choux buns. Mary I think was our server and she was very friendly. She told us they'd only been open a few weeks, but it feels like they've been there for ever. Highly recommended
This restaurant was great! It’s rather new, but the food and atmosphere were amazing! The restaurant has a great view of the old port, as well as good outdoor seating. The pesto pasta was spectacular!Food: 5/5
