I became involved in my aunt and uncle’s affairs when they were in their early 90’s. It became clear a major change had to be made in their living arrangements and luckily someone in town recommended Chris Bray of Rheinhardt & Bray, P.C. Over a five-year span, Chris has given me and my spouse exceptional legal counsel and guidance on how to support my aunt and uncle. He is extremely personable and has the ability to explain complex legal strategies in a simplified understandable way. For us, this involved finances, will’s, powers of attorney, Medicaid filing, a house sale, nursing home/assisted living advice and so much more. Chris is extremely professional, always accessible, easy to understand, and well-versed in elder law which can be very complicated in NY even down to the county level. I don’t know what I would have done without him. He essentially provided my aunt and uncle the respect and dignity they deserved in their final years while equipping me with the knowledge and tools that I needed to help manage their affairs. Without hesitation, I highly recommend hiring Chris to help with your elder estate planning.
Chris and his staff were very accommodating and helped me and my brothers navigate a very confusing system during an extremely emotional time in our lives He would take every call and would provide immediate assistance. We had a great initial meeting and were feeling comfortable with our choice to hire this firm. However, despite calls and e-mails received only one reply in 4 months and zero progress had been made on our loved one’s estate. We will be looking elsewhere at this point.
