After reading recent negative reviews I was very concerned about our upcoming stay at the Radisson.nJust checked out after 2 nights for a sports tournament.nStaff were all friendly and helpful. Rooms were fine and clean just dated with paint peeling etc. It was much nicer on the 3rd floor than the 1st. Beds were a bit squeaky but comfortable enough. Shower pressure was great. Buffet was a bit limited but good enough for an included breakfast.nPeople complained about the parking but I found it to be convenient and safe in the attached parkade.nYes the area downtown is a bit depressed but we encountered no issues or unsafe conditions. Overall a good stay and we would definitely return.
This was one of the best hotels I have stayed at. We stayed for several days, the staff were friendly curtious and professional. The continental breakfast was amazing. The amenities and location was perfect. Food court, movie theater, arcade and shops in the mall attached to the hotel. Didn't even have to go outside to get into the mall. The pool was clean and open fairly late..I I tried to extend my stay but they were fully booked. No surprise after having such a great experience.
Overall, a good experience. Nice pool, rooms were clean enough. Staff not as helpful as i would like. Need to pay more attention to the parking lot. Snow needed plowing. Breakfast area needs to have tongs and serving utensils provided to be sanitary. No seating area for breakfast an rooms are not well suited for eating.
Our business stay at the Radisson in Sudbury was unfortunately not what we expected. The hotel is in a convenient downtown location, close to restaurants and right beside a small shopping mall — though it’s clearly seen better days. The proximity to everything is nice in theory, but the area felt a bit rough, with quite a few homeless individuals walking around nearby, which made the surroundings feel uneasy at times.nnInside, the service was good — staff at the front desk were polite and did their best to be accommodating. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives mostly end. The hallway carpets had a strong, unpleasant odor, which hit you as soon as you stepped out of the elevator. The rooms were large, which we appreciated, but they were quite dated and worn down. Furniture looked tired, the décor felt stuck in the early 2000s, and the overall cleanliness was below average.nnThe TV was small, the air felt musty, and the smell lingered enough to make it hard to relax. It’s clear the hotel needs a deep renovation and some serious attention to maintenance and ventilation.nnWhile the staff were friendly and professional, the condition of the property really overshadows that effort. For the price and the Radisson name, we expected something cleaner and fresher.nnOverall, this hotel might work if you absolutely need to stay downtown and want larger rooms, but it’s far from comfortable. With the odors, aging interiors, and worn-out feel, it’s hard to recommend unless major updates are made.
I spent two nights here on a work trip. Night one I noticed that the room was not as clean or as well maintained as I would like and that the bathroom smelled of cigarettes.. but at first I thought it was passable for a couple nights on a work trip. I did notice that there was water damage on the ceiling and on one wall.nnI ate at pestos my first night, the food did not meet my expectations and the service was not very attentive despite there only being 3 tables of guests. Breakfast was mediocre. The yogurt offered was room temp/warm by 730amnnThe hotel was very loud through the night, consistent door slamming which woke me several times. The hallways were overall a negative experience with musty, dirty carpets.nnDay two, I returned from dinner to the fire alarms going with guests inside the lobby and outside the hotel. There were no staff visible to explain the situation. The fire department did show up and give the all clear about 20 minutes after I got there.nnI had to switch rooms at 1130pm on my second night because there was a leak in my ceiling bad enough that the noise of dripping water woke me. I was worried about damage to the building or a surprise 3am shower, so I called the front desk. The receptionist said they would see if there was another room available and to give them 5 minutes.. 15 minutes later I called back and had to ask for an update. I was instructed to come to the front desk for a new key, and had to bring all of my items down with no offer of a luggage cart being brought to me for the inconvenience. I was moved to a basement level, conjoined room, that smelled of cigarette smoke where I immediately found a hair in the bed...nnI did not feel safe here as a female traveling alone, the area is known for being one of the worst in Sudbury, and I did not like being on the main level with a patio door to outside given the number of homeless people in the area.nnSave yourself the trouble - I debated sleeping in my car in the parking garage over staying the second night here.
