For being this far up north, it is an excellent hotel to stay at.n5 stars all the way!
When we checked in at first the guy at the front desk seemed nice and helpful. But he was telling us how he could not wait to be finished work and get his pizza from the onsite restaurant. We tried 2 rooms before we left and stayed at another hotel. The first room the comforter was stained, the fridge was leaking water and room smelled of stale smoke like an old smoking room. We called the front desk about the fridge and the guy said he would call maintenance, it was 9:45 at night and I am not sure that maintenance even is working that late. We waited a bit and no one came so my husband had to go to the front desk to request another room as he had medication that needs to be refrigerated. The second room also stunk of stale smoke, there was a dead bug on the bed. When I called the front desk to mention about the bug the guy said that it is normal this time of the year and they are everywhere and another room would probably have them. We packed up and checked out of the hotel at this point, I find it disgusting that there was a dead bug on the bed on top of the other issues. When my husband went to check out the guy at the front desk told him that we are in the north and bugs are normal you just have to deal with them. We are from further north than High Level, AB and we are used to bugs but not in our bed or in a hotel bed. The fact that he shrugged it off as being normal was not ok with us. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great place! The staff in hotel and Stardust restaurant were very polite and friendly. The front desk clerk, even though busy with a full hotel, called our rooom within minutes to make sure we were happy. Our room was so clean and comfy. It had a fireplace, fridge, small table and chairs, couch. I highly recommend !
I stayed here for work and booked directly by phone at 7 AM for that same night. I was quoted a rate that fit our budget and reserved three double rooms and one single. At no point during the call was I informed of their 24-hour cancellation policy. When our work plans unexpectedly changed, we called immediately to cancel, only to be told we would be charged in full because the policy requires notice a full day in advance—something that has not been an issue at other hotels we’ve stayed at.nnUpon arrival, we discovered we had been charged $40 more per room than the quoted rate, and the room types had been switched to three singles and one double instead of what we booked. While the rooms were clean, they were basic and certainly not worth $180 per night.nnThis experience left me very disappointed with the hotel’s communication, booking accuracy, and willingness to address concerns. Based on this stay, I will not be returning to a Quality Inn property in the future.
