I've stayed at this Quality Inn a number of times. It's a good value. It's only a parking lot away from Fanny's and Wacky Wings so great location. If you're in a group, the rooms adjoin, which is nice. The rooms on lower level have patio doors for smokers. If you're there in the nice weather, bring some foldout chairs and hang outside. Definitely recommend for places to stay in North Bay!
I can't complain at all about the staff, service or location, which were all actually excellent. The hotel itself is run down, the rooms were ratty and dingy though fairly clean. Garbage bags were piled up at the rear entrance for our entire 2 night stay, which wasn't great when coming and going and the hall carpets always seemed dirty. The TV picture looked like grainy low-definition and some channels kept freezing. The room keys had to be reprogrammed numerous times by not just us but all sorts of guests. Price point seems to reflect the quality of the actual establishment. Really, if you can afford a little more I'd go somewhere cleaner and more well kept.
Let's be honest. Is this a 5 star hotel? Not even close. And yet I gave it 5 stars.nnBecause for what I wanted, it gave me exactly what I was looking for. It was easy on my wallet, had a breakfast that didn't suck and was worth getting up for, and the staff was always very helpful and super friendly.nnIf you're looking to impress your paramour, this isn't the place. If you're in town and looking for somewhere to spend the night that won't be a frustrating experience, welcome to the Quality Inn North Bay
The rooms are fairly well maintained and this hotel has a decent pool. Unfortunately the water pumps for the spa were not working properly during my visit. I also had issues with a total lack of room service. I guessed that my two night stay would not have towel service but when I left my full garbage pail in the hallway it was left there all day and not emptied. I guess the good thing about this was the staff didn't get the gratuity I left them by the door.nnMy only other issue isn't really the hotels fault. The location is right next to a major trucking route and an intersection. Repeatedly during the night I was awakened by the sound of truck engine brakes. If possible ask for a room on the east side of the building if you can't handle this noise.
Hotel was quite dated with edges of dressers badly scraped, very bad television signal. Unfortunately there was a swim meet or something going on and the halls were filled with screaming running adolescents, which was not the clerks fault however this was quite aggravating. My main issue was the dog in the next room which barked non stop for over four hours despite my reporting it to the front desk who did nothing about it. All in all we did not have a very pleasant sleep. In the future I will avoid pet friendly hotels if the staff do not consider the comfort of other guests
