Not the best experience. The hotel is new. But no AC in the room?! Also, I have never stayed at a Comfort Inn anywhere that does not have free breakfast. They have a restaurant build into the hotel that serves breakfast. Also there was no pool or jacuzzi on site. The worst part was, around 2 AM, there was very loud music playing from the outside. I was up in the 3rd floor, I called reception and they found out it was from someone outside of the hotel. So there was nothing he could do. I told him he should call the police, I don't know if he did. I had to close the windows, but since there's no AC, it was very stuffy. The next morning, around 7:30, the music woke me up again, the response from reception was the same. This was a terrible experience. The surrounding areas are sketchy at best. We got out of there in a hurry. There was free underground parking, but it was full when I checked in. I had to park on the street, which was scary. A local riding a bike yelled at me on the street. The nice big Canadian flag was disgracefully torn but was still being flown.
The front desk lady was so friendly. The room was so clean. We were very excited because the hotel we stayed in the night before was horrible. This place is fantastic. Full huge walk in shower, flat bed charger for my phone. Very comfy bed with really soft sheets, so nice. Will check out the restaurant downstairs tomorrow for breakfast
Great value for money. I would actually rate this a 4.5. Stayed here 2 nights while attending a conference within walking distance downtown. The room was very big, clean, bright, and blackout shades nice for sleeping. Laminate floors were a bit cold on the feet in the April in socks, so I had to wear shoes in the room. View not so great, but I didn't pick this hotel for a view. Staff were friendly and the hotel is convenient to walk downtown if you don't mind walking by skid row en route. It was like going through the downtown eastside of Vancouver. But no one hassled me, even at night, and it appeared that the underground car park was pretty secure. I would recommend and stay again.
While the hotel itself is nice and updated, and conveniently located within walking distance to attractions, the service was terrible. We stayed for three nights and did not receive room service once. On the one occasion they replaced the soap bottles, they just dropped them on the table without even bothering to stand them up. Additionally, they didn’t make the bed at all. Very disappointing experience. Like I mentioned, the location was very close to the attractions, it doesn’t look very safe ! There were a lot of homeless people in that area
The room was very nice indeed. Very clean, tidy and spacious. We didn't try the restaurant as we ate out, so can't comment on the food.nI only give a 3 star for the location, because and not the hotels fault, there were so many hopeless people wasted on drugs all around the area, we didn't feel safe walking out. We were going to have a walk after dinner, but went straight back to the hotel room. Even people at the restaurant we ate at were nervous about walking out late.nBut the time didn't stop the homeless asking people for money
