Have stayed here a few times in the last couple of months.nI’m a local, but sometimes just need a little “staycation”.nI was leary to book here due to the location, but I’ve had absolutely no issues any of the times I’ve stayed here.nThe lobby seems noisy in the evening when the Lounge downstairs is busy, but it’s quiet up in the rooms.nThe various desk staff I’ve dealt with have all been friendly, welcoming and professional.nBedding and towels are always fresh and clean.nBeds are comfy.nThe large walk-in showers are awesome.nHousekeeping does a great job cleaning between guests.nHalls are always clean.nBreakfast is good. Always a few different options. When anything starts to run low, it’s replenished quickly. I do with there were larger coffee cups.nThe parking lot isn’t fantastic, and the is on a hill that’s very slippery when it’s icy out.
For the price, it’s really a good choice. Everything was just perfect about this hotel. Front desk lady in the evening was super nice. Room was clean, Breakfast was just amazing. No complaints at all.
We arrived at 1230am they gave us a hard time about how we were paying for our room after telling us the card used on booking is the card you use to pay. Then in the morning we did a check on the room and let me tell you I have never stayed anywhere so disgusting in my life and we travel across Canada monthly. There was dirt all over the corners in the room, there was what looked like black mold in the hallway missing pieces in the ceiling, the room stunk and smelled like stale smoke. When we went down for breakfast they had shut down the pancake machine 15 minutes before breakfast was over. Their warmers had little to nothing in them but an egg that looked like it had been there for hours. There was customers coming in still for breakfast and at no time did they put more food out or even check to see what was there. The food that was there was not enough for 1 person let alone 2. After all this showing photos and complaining about the service the manager was quite ignorant. Telling us the paying customers to shut our mouths and wouldn’t let us voice our concerns. Threatened us he was going to give us a full refund but never did only a portion was returned to us! I strongly advice staying clear of this hotel as we’ve reported it now to health and safety as well. The location is awful too! There’s no lack of homeless people swarming the area! Lock your stuff up and be ready to feel disgusting!
Sketchy side of town but within walking distance to Hockey arena. Great pillows. Used bar or soap in the shower was nasty. TV didn't work when I got into my room. Desk attendant was great in resolving that issue.
I don’t often leave reviews but this was one I felt I had to leave. I am a Choice Privileges Diamond member and I’ve never been treated like this in the 10 or 15 years I’ve been staying at Choice hotels. As I parked close to the main door to check in I was yelled at by the manager about my truck being too long to park in that area and told I had to move it. A regular greeting and a request to please move my truck would have been sufficient! Once I called him on his attitude he doubled down on his rhetoric and just got louder. I ended up just canceling my reservation and stayed in another hotel!nOn a side note… as I looked through past reviews before I wrote this one…. this has happened with other customers as well and the manager always blames the customer for being aggressive. Common denominator seems to be…. You got it… the management! Do better sir! Life it too short!
