Excellent donuts! The honey pecan bread was delicious heated up the next morning too. And personally witnessed a waitress run out to help an elderly gentleman out of his car and into the bakery. We need more human beings like their staff!
Food alone? 5 stars for sure. Their donuts are amazing and everything I’ve had is damn near. But the two gals that have been there both times I’ve gone in are so rude. What’s weird is they seem perfectly cheery before and after helping me. I’m sure you think I’m omitting the part where I’m a jerk, but no… marginally indecisive at worst, but a couple seconds not a half hour. Anyway. Food is great. Would love to not wince when I see angry lady, but eh ‍
Thank you who ever baked and decorated my husband 80 th birthday cake. The cake was very moist and the maple frosting was out of this world. Everyone raved about it. Thanks again

I love that the Quality Bake Shop has been around forever. It survived Covid for a crazy length of time. However, the girl who waited on us this morning needs to work on her people skills. I was with my two grandchildren and we were excited to pick out what we wanted for donuts and she was miserable. I never leave reviews, but the owner needs to know this.
“The product is just lacking” said another reviewer. What kind of bs is that? This is a local bakery and breakfast/lunch counter that’s been working for over 65 years. Quality Bake Shop doesn’t kneel to the expectations of people who want linen napkins and a $17 omelette. They are what they say there are and more. A quality bake shop with great donuts and cookies, and a killer stick-to-your-rib breakfast and lunch menu at a fair price. Kick rocks if you have a problem with this place- it’s perfect.
Absolutely THE BEST bakery in Vermont! And an institution in Essex Junction. I would order by mail even to get stuff shipped overnight if I could.
Went here with the fam I’ve been in Essex for a while and cannot believe I hadn’t been to this place. Two breakfast sandwiches on croissants, three donuts, and an M&M cookie for $11!! the breakfast sandwiches were A+++++++ best in town. You can’t pay more money for a better one anywhere in Essex. Love this place. Will go back many times. Will recommend to friends. Btw it’s cash or check only there’s an ATM inside. Go now
These are the best donuts. I have tried many donuts and these are the best ones and are affordable. The cake donuts are super flavourful with the perfect crumb, and the yeasted donuts are all fluffy inside with a crispy outside. Dunkin, Tims, and Krispy Kreme have nothing on Quality Bake Shop. Go Early and bring Cash.
The food is always great and I've been going here for over 30 yrs.... However, yesterday i went in to order breakfast sandwiches and the girl behind the counter was so rude. I can honestly say I've never dealt with this ever in any establishment. I tried to think what the issue was and I believed she was upset because the woman who normally does the grill was talking a short break and she had to start my order. The looks she gave me and the body language was just awful... I left feeling like I never wanted to return. Which I'm sure would be just fine with this young woman!
