River shuttle poorly designed boat captain looks stupid he took my new bike to attach it to the barrier it's not true that I'm going to have my new bike damaged for a boat trip
Place now inaccessible and forbidden to sport fishermen who wade fish or use the FREE launching ramp
Beautiful place to observe the waters of the river, the island of Montreal, the islands of Varennes and those of Repentigny. Small parking lot for 10 cars. The launching ramp has a very steep slope. Can accommodate small motorized boats, kayaks, canoes or paddle boards SUP.nnThe old federal quay of Varennes was built around the middle of the 18th century for the navigation of the river transport network by steamboat. It was initially made of wood, then rebuilt in stone and cement. It was called Grand-Quai, because there was a second, smaller one built at the foot of the basilica of Ste-Anne de Varennes and the rapids facing it. The Petit-Quai has now long since disappeared. Around the 1980s, the federal government transferred upkeep and maintenance services to towns along the St. Lawrence Seaway. The town of Varennes was renamed under the name of Quai Bellevue. The municipality of Varennes has built a second quay, but this one is floating, at the large De-la-Commune park, a little further upstream.nnFor more than 80 years, in the 18th century, steamboats transported goods and passengers. They linked towns and villages between Montreal and Quebec by the St. Lawrence River and tributaries such as the Richelieu River and Lake Champlain on the American side of the states of New York and Vermont.nn.
Nice place to observe the river and the ships. With a small parking lot that is rarely filled. Note that the site is now called Quai de Bellevue
Superb place, worth discovering!
