Story

CoveCare Center (formerly Putnam Family & Community Services) provides mental health, substance use and family support services to people in the Lower Hudson Valley. Our mission is to partner with individuals, families and the community to foster hope, wellness and recovery, and to restore quality of life by addressing mental health needs, substance use, and social and emotional issues.

Mission

To enhance the potential for healing and growth in a responsive and dignified manner for residents of Putnam County, NY and surrounding areas, regardless of ability to pay, so that they may better manage their lives and improve the quality of family and community living.

Used to be great as putnam family, now as cove care there horrible. My fiancé went there for a therapy appointment at 6pm. The receptionist told him he was early he’s scheduled for 6:45pm so we left and came back at 6:35pm. The receptions then told us that his therapist, Jeff Pearl, called his name in the waiting room at 6:30pm and because he was not there he had left for the day. I then emailed the director about how concerning this was and urged for her to call my cell phone so we can speak about the issue. I have received no call nor an email back. On top of that Jeff his therapist who is supposed to be helping him, called my fiancé’s parole officer to tell him he didn’t show up for his appointment. Something like that could send him back to jail. These people don’t care about our well being or professionalism. We never went back. Also to say I myself was always waiting in the waiting room 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. So down with this place.

I've been going to PROS for over 3 years. At first I didn't want to go but I was mandated by DSS to go to Putnam Family And Community Services. Once there I was told I needed to go more than once a month and I was switched to PROS. I was not happy but I went. Slowly but surely I started to buy into what they were telling me. Looking back now I would not be where I am and doing what I'm doing if it wasn't for the staff at PROS. going there saved my life!! I found meaning and a purpose. I now work in the mental health field. Yes I did and continue to do the work but the amazing staff there showed me the way!! They have given me everything I needed plus.

Had an interview and I thought it went well. Didn't hear back from them after they told me I would hear back. The lady I interviewed with was nice but when I reached out to her she was very rude and disrespectful and not helpful at all. I hope they didn't fill the position - BAD KARMA

As far as a government funded facility goes, this is not bad. Helpful people.
