Purlieu Bistro

Amazing food!! And wonderful staff!! Went there last night with my husband and we tried 3 appetizers and we both ordered the mussels and fries and shared the cheesecake dessert. All of it were incredible, so satisfying to eat! Love the atmosphere and the service was awesome as well! Will definitely be going back!

We had a lovely dinner. Great atmosphere, great food, and great service. It’s a really cute hole-in-the-wall from the outside, but beautiful and serene if tiny! inside. All the dishes were adjusted for local, seasonal availability. And for such an elegant atmosphere, the prices were quite reasonable! Would highly recommend!

A perfect evening - wonderful charming server, cocktails and wine were excellent, dinner was outstanding Duck Confit and Steak Frites and dessert - Crème brûlée - YUMM....

What a gem! We just happened across this French restaurant on Google, and it was fantastic! I can't wait to go back. Friendly service with well informed staff that make you feel so welcome and involved in your dining experience. Superb food. Try the duck, and you will never want to eat out anywhere else again. The wine list has something for everyone with any budget, however, I would recommend you splurge and get the chef to pair the wine with your meal. Bon appetit.

It was a decent dinner, but the pork belly was 28$ for two tiny pieces. This place has no business selling you two tiny pieces for that price. I got a wagyu burger as well and both the buns were pretty burnt. The pasta wasn’t amazing but the seafood in it was very good!

Beautiful restaurant with some of the best food I've ever had! The steam buns and hummus are incredible, you MUST try them!! I love how they've decorated the place, it's very warm and inviting. Great spot for a date night or even a night out with the family, they are really accommodating to everyone.

Just wrapped up a date night out at Purlieu with my fiancée, and I can comfortably say this bistro is a diamond in the rough. From the moment we were greeted, Claude, Sophie, and the team at Purlieu made us feel incredibly welcome, and provided amazing service. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive, and incredibly friendly. From first drinks to dessert and coffee, we were looked after perfectly. We shared the Beef Tartare to start, which was delicious. It was great to see an actual quail egg used, which helped push this dish over the top the potatos gaufrette were seasoned perfectly. We then moved on to Moules Frites and the Duck Cassoulet - both were amazing. The mussels were done in a fantastically seasoned Vadouvan curry, which provided a perfect dip for the fries credit to Claude for the tip. The duck, sourced from King Cole, was tender, moist, and not greasy, unlike many other restaurants in town that serve duck. Finding out that vegetables were sourced from the local market 2 doors down helped seal the deal - the food here is bomb. We're very grateful to have such an elite eatery so close to home, and at the risk of letting the secret out, they deserve the exposure. Purlieu was perfect tonight, and you gotta eat here.

This happens to be one of my favourite restaurants in Calgary. Service is always excellent, the ambience is great and the food is some of the best in the city. As we head into our 2nd lockdown I suggest that everyone support this small business!

We came to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were greeted as soon as we arrived The front staff introduced themselves and Alejandro served us. He was fantastic. He kept an eye on us without being intrusive. What a great night. Kid-friendliness: My grandchildren were well taken care of.
