Food is delicious! So flavourful, filling, and affordable, service is great, the staff asked us if everything was okay many times, the vibe of the restaurant is very nice. Highly recommend getting the naan with whatever you order, nice warm naan that is crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Very good spot!
Worth A Visit! Chaat Papri: Delicious. Tandoori Chicken: yummy -. Fantastic Naan fresh and delicious. Best ones I’ve had so far in Ottawa. Butter chicken poutine is a hard pass. Lassi actually tasting of fruit and yogurt and not just excessive sweetness from canned mango purée. Also the best one I’ve had here. Server asks the spice level which is definitely a great experience for any cuisine where spice levels vary. Cons: For the price of tandoori chicken, the portion of side chutney was tiny. Barely enough for 1 person. Not including the cabbage under the chicken, it was missing any side salad especially onions and lemon that normally accompanies tandoori dishes. It didn’t come with naan either. That was also extra. Butter Chicken Poutine: needs more smaller pieces of chicken instead of a few large chunks and more flavour in general. Will not get again.
Got Amritsari Kulcha , Cholle Puri and Noodle burger with Sweet Lassi. Tasted so bad and bad experience, Only Noodle burger was amazing . Reviews dont prove the taste . They didnt had Paranthe for breakfast .
Favorite Indian food in Ottawa, my new go-to spot! Tried it as take-out first and really enjoyed it. Brought family and friends to dine in and the experience was great too : Highly recommend their combo plates, especially with their chicken pakoras and butter chicken - very tasty
Uncooked food. I picked up order for amritsari kulcha and it was uncooked. Not even half cooked. I didn’t order online thinking picking up would at-least be fresh food. But the oil taste was very bad from samosas as well. Disappointing.
Absolute Gem of Riverside South! Amazing menu, delicious authentic food, super friendly staff, lovely indoor dining space. Now my family’s favourite place to eat out!
Fantastic food, has to be up there for best in Ottawa, great service, nice interior vibe, extensive menu and fair prices. Tried the lamb madras curry highly recommended, very , mushroom masala curry slightly sweet and also , crispy garlic naan must get!, roti and zeera rice. Curry’s were rich and flavourful. Will return!
We'd ordered from Punjabi Canteen a few times in the past and we were blown away each time. Neither me nor my wife had found many Indian food places in Ottawa that we liked very much and this was super solid. Especially happy with their lamb and chicken curries. I went and had dine-in for the first time today and was thrilled. I got combo E non-veg curry, rice, naan, and a pop for $15.99!!!! I got the chicken korma. Good atmosphere, awesome food, good service, and cheap! Bonus points for just being around the corner from my place. Vegetarian options: A very good selection of vegetarian options on the menu so I can take my mom there. Indian food always does great for vegetarian options anyway.
Amazing ambience, fresh and delicious food as always. We are repeat customers at 1234 Merivale Road and visited the Barrhaven store for the first time and were elated to see the beautiful interiors. Our regular orders include Chana Bhatura and/or Samosa. This time we ordered Samosa Chaat. The portion was generous and as usual very tasty and fresh !
Very delicious food! The staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful, the service is quick, and the portions are well sized. I’m constantly craving their lamb biryani, chicken Manchurian, and their naan, and I cannot wait to try the rest of their menu!Recommended dishesPlain Naan, Lamb Biryani
