"Proper Taco is a sassy taco shop, with an accompanying food trailer affectionately called Gladys. Gladys is available for private events.We offer a few classic tacos, like carnitas, and sometimes cabeza. For the most part we're just having fun with food. After all, a tortilla is just an edible plate, there are no rules as to what can go on it.I'd also like to mention, we are not a Mexican restaurant. No beans and rice. No fajitas. All the fun.Please place your orders online rather than calling them in."

What a super whimsical, quaint and tasty place. We celebrated my son’s high school graduation with family. As a Mexican-American who has lived in Mexico, their tacos reflected the fresh street tacos one would get from small shops in a big city. Fresh ingredients, quality veggies… and quite a range of meats and options. My mother in law had an excellent salad with a house specialty dressing and my mom had a nacho that was killer. My pork tacos were great. The red lettered options were as spicy as advertised. Hilarious that they named their different tacos people’s names. I had the Spencer and the Cali cactus dip with homemade chips. Absolutely recommend. Certainly a “best of Midland!”
My food allergies prevent me from eating at a lot of restaurants. Proper Taco has been a wonderful exception! The staff has been great every time I visit. They're knowledgeable about all the ingredients, and I enjoy the variety and creativity put into the menu.
Real deal authentic Mexican food! Atmosphere is inviting & suuuper cute!! Alot of different Taco types, Nacho's, etc. All Mexican drink selection which I loved!! Staff was over the top friendly!! Alot of outdoor seating!! Highly recommend!!!

This is my new favorite taco shop. Im from Tucson, AZ and Proper Tacos rivals southwest street tacos. Located near my church and public library gives me a convenient reason to frequent the Proper Taco Parking: There may have a parking lot. I'm not sure. I almost always go on my bicycle, never have any issues
Hands down the best tacos my family and I have ever had. They were so fresh, the ingredients were flavorful, and the spices were wickedly good. There’s a taco for everyone here, no matter your spice or topping preference. The four of us left here very happy!
LOVE LOVE LOVE- For starters all of the food items have people names AND personality? PERFECTION! I have a had two really great experiences with proper taco and the have a customer for life! 1. During a evening at the Larkin beer garden in the summer a food truck was double booked so they personally came and delivered the food you would order! 2. The catered the MBA After hours event and the crushed it. Best service ever, the trays were never empty which was hard to do because everyone was LOVING the food! We also were able to meet the owner and it was so great to meet them! Customer service matters- they excel at it! How amazing that Midland gets this amazing small business!
Amazing tacos! The portions are huge! I ordered one taco and nachos to share with my huband and it was too much food to finish. The pork was tasty and juicy, and the topping were very complimentary on the meat. The cashier was super friendly and we will be going back.Food: 5/5
Proper Taco is such an amazing addition to Midland’s Downtown District. We tried 5 different tacos and every single one of them was beyond amazing. While they do have a ton of mild menu options, if you’re a person who enjoys spice then you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the level of spice they can dish up while still maintaining insane flavor. Aside from the food, the staff is amazing. Everyone was so kind and helpful - we even stayed for a while just chatting with the staff and owner after finishing our dinner. Oh! And they also have amazing vegan options.. in Midland… IYKYK.
