Prince of Wales Public School is a Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 school.

Story

Prince of Wales Public School is a Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 school. The school opened in 1890, with several additions since that time. Today, Prince of Wales is home to approximately 180 students and 25 staff members.
The school offers a variety of programs to meet the social, academic, and emotional needs of our students. Some of these programs include: We also offer a variety of experiential learning activities, and place a strong emphasis on extra-curricular activities. Our school has all day, every day Kindergarten programming and all students receive French daily.
Community partnerships are important to us. We have strong links with the YMCA, Public Library, and our volunteers are also an important part of the school team. The school places a strong emphasis on school safety.

GOALS OF OUR TWENTY MONTH KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM
Prince of Wales Kindergarten Program helps children grow in a child-centred, activity-oriented atmosphere by providing opportunities for each child to:
☻ develop concepts and skills appropriate to his/her stage of maturity (e.g., literacy and numeracy skills);
☻ strengthen self-confidence and self-worth;
☻ develop a happy, positive attitude to learning;
☻ adjust to his/her new environment;

☻ form good habits of health and safety;
☻ learn to accept routines and responsibilities;
☻ learn more about him/herself and how to interact with others;
☻ expand natural curiosity by exploring and investigating aspects of the world;
☻ learn to respect others and their property.
