Knowledgeable doctors, clean facility and reliably good service from the medical staff. However, there are some issues. For example, the front desk staff are kind, except for one lady who clearly hates the job and everyone she has to talk to. I never complain about staff usually since people could be having a bad day, but the consistency of her demeanor have proven time and time again over years that her priorities are not kindness or customer service. There are also really steep fees for missed appointments and in general, the vibes are less family doctor's office than for-profit clinic. Usually there's a more caring energy to a doctor's office that I think is missing here and the reason for 3 stars. Especially for being an office of women, it is surprising to feel like a number in a list of patients.
I've dealt with at least four of the doctors at this clinic -- covering my doctor's mat leave, late shift, etc -- and in every single encounter I've found them to be extremely professional and competent, but also warm and relaxed. Excellent communication, "bedside" manner, follow-through, all of it. I'm moving out of the area and am in a total panic at the thought of leaving this clinic! Thank you to the whole team for making stressful medical moments feel much better than they normally would. Kathryn Thomas
I'm not one to leave negative reviews however my experience with Jennifer today was very poor. She is rude and is not there to help the patients of this clinic. Long story short, the receptionist staff did not perform their duties correctly and were lazy. Instead of apologizing and admitting the fault of the staff for making the error she tried to put the blame on me. Luckily, I was able to get an appointment at another medical clinic without an issue. They were very accommodating and understand customer service unlike the staff here.
I have been in healthcare for over 30 years. My experience today when I called for an urgent issue was like nothing I have ever experienced. I was given an appointment within hours of my call. The physician called promptly, addressed my issues, initiated testing and treatment. All I can say is wow! Dr Holland and Thomas are great. If every clinic worked like this we wouldn’t have a ED problem in hospitals.
I absolutely love my doctor. I have also seen a few different ones here when mine was not available, and they're all great to deal with. The front desk, however, makes calling for an appointment such a horrible experience especially Jennifer. I understand that they have stressful jobs, however, it is their job at the end of the day and anytime reception answers, it's as if you're annoying them and there is suchhh an attitude given. It's very disheartening that this is what you have to encounter in order to book an appointment when you're calling regarding your health. The doctors, however, are all absolutely amazing.
I can’t say enough about how positive my experiences at PEM have been. Their collaborative, community based approach allows them to do so much more for their patients than anything I have ever experienced in health care. The access to urgent clinic appointments has been a life saver on more than one occasion, and has saved me from the dreaded walk-in clinic experience. I also find their social media presence to be both informative and reassuring. I always feel heard and respected at my appointments and my perspective is always included in the development of treatment plans. I feel very fortunate that my family and I are PEM patients.
I am a senior and did not feel my doctor cared about my health. My doctor seemed to be only available on Wednesdays usually and it was difficult to get an appointment although sometimes would see another doctor. Felt there was no continuity of care. One of receptionist was impossible to deal with. The clinic extra billing practices were a money grab. If you decide to signup with them beware of extra changes to patients which even includes prescription renewals. Left this clinic and found a doctor that is caring, responsive and doesn't extra bill.
We had THE BEST doctor at PEM but she left and they dropped us, said we would be grandfathered into another practice and we weren't. And when I called yesterday to beg to have my daughter's prescription refilled for just a week because all of the walk-in clinics were at capacity, they wouldn't. And I'm only giving them one star because I can't post this review otherwise.
I was one of Dr. Linda Wong's patients. When I called the clinic to book an appointment, I was told Dr. Wong was no longer practicing and that an email had been sent out to her patients with information about how to register with the doctor taking over her practice. I never received the email, and as a consequence I missed the deadline to register with the new doctor and now I am without a family doctor. I don't know if this is the fault of Prince Edward Medical or Dr. Wong herself, but I am extremely disappointed that more effort wasn't taken to reach out to her patients to make sure they were informed of this change. It is very stressful to have to look for a new doctor and I can't believe that I was just abandoned like this as a patient.
I have been a patient of this healthcare provider for many years and I have always been respectful to the ladies on reception along with my doctor being a healthcare professional I can understand and empathize that phone lines along with patients requests can be frustrating and difficult in this line of work. Previously I had been told by my doctor who I won’t name out of respect to not hesitate to contact the clinic if I felt the need was urgent and having experienced bad reaction to my new cream prescribed one in which had caused a rash to spread all over my body including my face that was so sensitive I couldn’t even put baby products on my skin I knew that this needed urgent care I called the clinic and advised the receptionist who forwarded my concern to my doctor who sent me a follow up email stating they didn’t know what previous prescription I had been prescribed and instructed me to call the pharmacist which I did and the pharmacist sent my doctor a msg.I then waited till the end of the next day no response from anyone while the rash got worse and decided to communicate this to the reception the following day the receptionist advised me the doctor hadn’t responded to the pharmacist, at this stage the rash had spread to my face leaving me looking and feeling awful the following day I called the clinic again day 3 no follow up and a skin problem that was so sensitive even to clothing the receptionist asked “had I called already ? “ and I responded apologetically explaining that the rash had gotten much worse she advised she would contact my doctor and ask her to respond to the pharmacy request. In my doctors defence I don’t think she was alerted to the severity of the rash and was just told that I was calling again holding up the phone lines making educated guess based on the email I was sent afterwards. A few hours later I received an appalling email from my doctor stating that it takes 7-10 business days for non urgent requests and was instructed to and I quote not “burden” reception with unnecessary requests that it wouldn’t speed up her task. To say I was appalled by this email is putting it politely I am absolutely horrified by this response and will be taking a previous reviewers advice and going elsewhere for my healthcare, the receptionists display very poor service levels and are the reason the clinic will have little to no patients as they display in my opinion the worst customer/client services and are miscommunicating clients requests And creating the most horrific patient experiences. A very soon to be former disgruntled patient
