Story

Portage is an Amtrak intercity train station in Portage, Wisconsin, served by Amtrak's daily Empire Builder service. The depot is a small square brick structure constructed during the Amtrak era, that is located near a Canadian Pacific Railway office (which occupies what was formerly the Portage passenger depot.) There are no station staff in Portage. In October 2011 Lamers Bus Lines began offering a daily stop at the station, with service between Madison and Wausau.

No staff here and it's not even a warming center On cold nights you will freeze and be in the dark. NO insulation and the "heater" Is a small one doesnt keep anything warm unless your standing under it for A few seconds. Your better going to the dells or another station nearby. No bathroom either just two benches basically a small jail cell. However if you have to go here I'd suggest the local bar nearby. Jacks tap. I'd give them five stars

This Amtrak station is unmanned and only provides a small waiting shelter for the patrons. It is a warm escape from the frigid air however seems as though it needs some renovation. There is no ADA accessible access either.

The station here is a small brick box with a few benches inside and nothing more.
