Delicious coney dogs! We had a root beer float and banana split as well, the price to quantity was perfect. The servers were prompt and it really had a small town vibe. The car next to us pulled in and all the servers were excited to see whatever local was in the car, confirmed her order without hesitation and got right into conversation about how her week had been. I love seeing service with a smile! Very close to the dunes national park and visitor center, worth the quick jaunt over to have a delicious coney dog!
Cute lunch spot close to the national park! I ordered an LA street dog woth onion rings and a soda. Everything was piping hot and well prepared. Friend ordered a sandwich and sweet potato fries that were the perfect color. She also ordered the green soda and was pleasantly surprised by it! Great place to stop for a quick bite while in town.
FUN! What a fun lunch. Pretty darn good BLT. server just a nice person. If you're a #rootbeer fan...get a frosty mug full. Drive in, eat in your car, or walk up window. They do charge a cc percentage fee. It's listed on the menu. Inexpensive and nice
I love the Port. I've been coming here since I was a kid! Never failed to disappoint. They managed to survive through the COVID-19 pandemic which was wonderful--nnFood wise, they have a wide variety of options. Don't even get me started on the drinks available. Dozens of sodas and soda combinations, shakes, and the famous root beer float. They also sell root beer by the gallon here!nnJust as well, it's one of the only locations in the area that operates damn near the same as they have since they've opened. 1958nnIf you're ever in Northwest Indiana, be sure to make this one of your pit stops! You won't be disappointed!
This was a family time staple during my childhood. Came back to visit at 32 and was SHOCKED to see that the prices haven't changed much and the food is still 10/10.nnFood is excellent, servers are friendly, prices can't be beat!
