A proud community member helping develop the town of Ponoka through community led programming and access to informational materials.
The first library in Ponoka was established in 1933 and was called the Fort Ostell Library located in the Ponoka Community Restroom on 51st Ave. In 1956, the first Library Board was formed, and the library became known as Ponoka Jubilee Library as it had received funds from the Alberta Government, during its 50th birthday jubilee celebration, to build a new building for the library.
Three years later in 1959 Ponoka Jubilee Library joined Parkland Regional Library System and has benefited ever since from its membership. As a current member of Parkland Regional Library System and the The Alberta Library's (TAL), its patrons have access to every library across Alberta and the millions of items contained within as well as great databases.
