You will have better luck on Facebook marketplace don't sell to here it’s a complete joke!!!!!!!!nI am not one to ever leave a bad review, this is quite literally my first bad review, but I never fail to be disappointed when I leave this place….yet I keep going back hoping there will be a different outcome. I have never had a pleasant interaction with staff; they all act as if they are too good to be working there and are completely rude and dismissive. My most recent visit I was not even acknowledged by the one girl working when I went up to the counter to sign in my stuff for an uncomfortable amount of time, despite the store being completely empty. Not so much as a hello or any form of customer service at all the whole time, just told me to put it on the counter thats it!!!! As someone who has worked in retail and hospitality for 6+ years I was SHOCKED… this would never fly in my workplaces…but I also have the basic human decency to say hello to customers regardless of my mood.nnThen there is the actual selling process. Even when I check what is being taken, they never seem to take much of my stuff. I always bring in nice quality items, nicer than most of what is being sold in there, and nicer than most of the employees are dressed. I understand if something is stained, but name brand jeans, shirts, sweaters and shoes not being taken. It’s a complete joke! The few things they usually do take is a ratty old school hoodie, walmart clothes or crappy old clothes I actually bought from there years ago. I don’t know if it is so you can buy it low and then price gouge people later on, but it makes zero sense and seems like a poor business model cause does that crap really sell? When I ask why certain items are not taken I usually receive the same dumb spiel of “have you looked at what we are selling, it’s on the whiteboard,” or a rude dismissive response from one of your overly sassy employees on an ego trip.nnNeedless to say I won’t be returning to sell, or giving you any of my business in the future. It is a waste of my time.
Worth it for the athletic wear, a bit expensive for second hand but good quality! For the selling point, it’s not worth it unless you really want to get rid of clothing item and don’t want to sell it yourself… they forgot one time my bag and kept it until I could get it so bonus point for that
I ended up not selling any of the preloved clothes I came to sell. However, the overall experience was good. I found many items in great shape and competitive prices. I bought a Van's sneaker. You have the option to donate the non accepted items to CP which is awesome. Will come again and try my luck selling different categories. The staff were nice and helpful...
I am moving in a small room with a toddler since my partner and I broke up and I have to sell everything to raise rent money, I packed all my clothes, shoes, purses and I had 4 big suitcases full. I don’t drive so I took uber XL to fit all the suitcases and I dropped off the stuff. They told me to come back at 6pm, from the reviews I read that they are usually behind time so I didn’t show up until 6:30pm and I was told to wait for 40 mins. I had a 14month old with me running around the block for almost an hour until I finally received the text that it’s complete. I was so curious to know how much I will be offered, most of the stuff had been worn once or twice, and i had lots of variety. To my shock, they only took 2 pairs of shoes, a sweater and a couple pants, and they offered me $29. I couldn’t believe it. I brought in clothes worth thousands of dollars, and all they offered was $29! And apparently the rest were not trendy enough, or they have been over used, meanwhile the sweater they bought was more worn that everything they left. I spent $80 from the two return trips, which 2 of them required uberXL, just to be paid $29. And here I was thinking I will get some decent compensation for at least 1 month of rent. Well all I can say is whoever that wants to go sell there looking for money dont waste your time. Just go there more for like donating.
I have sold clothes several times at both the Merivale and Saint Laurent locations, and I also used to enjoy shopping there. However, I’ve gradually noticed that it has become harder to find suitable items. The overall selection seems to have declined, with a very limited variety of brands and too many lower-end options.nIn addition, many items have visible issues such as pilling, stains, damage, or shrinkage, which makes it difficult as a customer to find something worth purchasing. At the same time, I’ve observed that your stores often have an excessive amount of inventory.nBased on this, I would suggest providing more training for staff on how to better select items and carefully check for defects. This would not only improve the shopping experience for customers but also help reduce unnecessary overstock and clearance problems.
