Can't suggest I understand the reviews here Pricing is toppy for sure; talking top billing for say 400g chicken thighs which will be double what you'd see in a Tesco. As to the shop itself; clean, products are well presented and stocked, the security friendly, staff generally friendly and make an effort to say hello and ask how you are, coffee decent - not sure what else you'd be looking for. Make trips in for coffee, milk and some of the meat and is no more expensive than F&G which I also shop in for the veg and to spread the takings throughout the whole market. Decent
Pop in here regularly as it’s near my work. Good selection of items & they accept NHS discount too, which is a bonus. Pretty much good experience everytime with nice staff. Only issue sometimes there’s quite a big queue & often only one person on the till. 2 occasions i was followed & stared at by the same security guard.
Just spent the last 45 mins being educated by the amazing Urvi. She told me everything i needed to know about nutrition, specific to my needs and what i was looking for. She took the time to listen and understand what i wanted help with and was so patient! Felt like i had 45 mins with a nutritionist! The friendliest and most helpful, will go back again just for more Urvi help! Really recommend
Planet Organic, why do you feel the need to open your 14th store on what is a very historic street market full of independent businesses? London is becoming a monoculture, the unique charm of places is being lost. It's a shame the council could not stop you and there aren't more laws protecting historic trading sites like they do in France.
HORRIBLE — I was overcharged, and after calling out the mistake, employee first denied the mistake and then didn’t even apologize while issuing the refund. I visited on a Sunday evening for a few quick items. Surprised by the total at checkout, figured I was at an expensive organic store but asked for receipt anyway receipt was not offered. There were 2 items on the receipt that I hadn’t purchased, and when I pointed them out, the lady at checkout had some dumb explanation — “oh those are leftover items from the last transaction, you weren’t actually charged for them” ?!?. Luckily her manager was at the till beside her and stepped in to ring me up again. My actual total was indeed several pounds less than I’d already been charged for. The manager issued a refund to my card but never bothered to apologize. Already overpriced without the rip-off and awful service. Don’t shop here!!!!
I came in this morning firstly to explore the products then ordered a juice. The atmosphere was strange - I was stared at by male staff members, like I was odd, I have no idea why. The girl staff member, was very polite and helpful. My juice order was forgotten about by the tall male behind the counter, I was hanging around uneasily, then it was done but straw omitted, no apologies, weirdly unfriendly place actually!
They have great products but the security is intimidating. It's like if you're not white they sort of follow you around. Just bought a lot of stuff there and I felt really awkward.
Hit and miss, last Thursday afternoon, I had a beautiful experience, this morning, completely new crowd, it was horrible, I felt so humiliated, this is not the way to treat your loyal consumers and customers. I will think twice whether to come to the store again. I will continue doing my shopping in Islington and Tottenham Court Road brunch, but will avoid Broadway Market one. Really bad, better say horrible experience
The Broadway Market branch is really not a great representation of Planet Organic! The staff don’t know much about their stock. Asked for Wheatgrass, one didn’t know what it was, took me other to another staff member who said he didn’t know if they sold it then turned away and carried on shelf stacking. Turns out they did have it in the very next aisle!! Also needed some greens, there were at least 4 bags but all were rotten & liquified. I was initially chuffed to see a PO close by in Broadway Market, but won’t be back any time soon, or until I know they have got their act together & trained their staff properly.
Broadway market is great because it has fantastic independent shops with absolutely every grocery organic or not under the sun. We don’t need over priced chain stores here, thank you! You’ll drive away the independents and all we’re left with is bland coffee and bad service from staff that doesn’t care.
