A great spot right in the heart of downtown Montreal, near Place des Arts—truly where art happens in the city.nnAs an artist, writer, and storyteller, I love being surrounded by creativity, performance, and cultural energy, and this area delivers exactly that. This is the cultural hub of Montreal. If you’re ever visiting the city, this is where everything comes alive—music, theatre, festivals, and street energy all come together in one dynamic space.nnDepending on the season, Place des Arts hosts an incredible range of performances, from classical concerts and ballet to contemporary dance, theatre, comedy, and major touring productions. In the summer, the surrounding area becomes especially vibrant during the Montreal International Jazz Festival, when outdoor stages, live music, and crowds fill the streets and create an electric atmosphere throughout the district.nnEven outside of specific events, the area always feels alive and inspiring. There is a constant sense of movement, culture, and creativity that makes simply being there an experience in itself.nnService in the area was friendly and efficient, and everything felt easy and welcoming from start to finish.nnOverall, this is one of the most exciting cultural areas in Montreal. Whether you’re attending a show at Place des Arts, exploring downtown, or just passing through, it’s a place that captures the creative spirit of the city. I would absolutely return.
Received tickets for this show for Christmas '25. Had a great time watching the various performances. My favorite performance was the changing of the faces. Still trying to figure that out. That place had nice seating. Not too overly packed. I would definitely come and see another show again.
Great landscape and a beautiful spot to take photos of the downtown skyscrapers. The views make it a nice place to stop and enjoy the city scenery.
I went to see Star Wars A New Hope in concert. Firstly there is no other venue like the Place Des Arts. The show was phenomenal, you don't realize how much music goes into a movie. It adds another depth to the experience to watch the music come to life live. I would definitely recommend any of these types of concerts.
I loved the opera last night but I gave a 3 star because of the people that work there. they were unfriendly. The people at the bar I got a bottle of water they were worse than the ones guiding.nnWe got there literally 1 minute late so for the first act we had to sit all the way in the back on the orchestra level. The 2nd act we got to go to our seats Row B orchestra level. And yes the view to the orchestra and the performers is way better but it hurts my neck to keep my neck stretched out to look at the performers, translation, conductor and of course my favorite part the orchestra. I think row G or K would be ideal. But of course mezzanine around row B would be best!
