We stumbled across this place a couple weeks ago while driving through Mission and thought we should give it shot one day, so we tried it out tonight. We went in with low expectations as any other BBQ places we’ve tried have been subpar. Entering the restaurant we were pleasantly surprised by the interior, the place is spotless and in pristine condition, including their large, comfortable booths. They have social distancing protocols in place so every other table is closed. We were greeted by a nice young man who was also our server. The menu is extensive and there is something for everyone it seems including vegetarians and low-carb dieters. I ordered the Cesar salad with grilled chipotle mango chicken. This was one of the best restaurant Cesar salads I’ve ever had. The tender chicken breast was seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of spice. I didn’t find even one piece of brown or wilted lettuce in the entire bowl, this is very rare in a restaurant. The garlic bread it came with was perfectly toasted with just the right amount of garlic butter. My spouse had the “barnyard buffet” and he enjoyed every bite. This humongous serving of meat comes with 2 sides, he couldn’t figure out which ones to try so the nice server suggested the Mexican rice, his other choice was a baked potato. The Mexican rice was surprisingly delicious and the baked potato was good too. This comes with chicken wings, ribs and brisket. Some parts of the brisket was drier but I think that was closer to the bark. Even though it was a tad drier than the rest is was still great and easy to chew with perfect flavouring. All the sauces, which the server also suggested, were amazing. We asked for some sauces on the side instead of on the meat and were easily accommodated. I saw some reviews of people complaining about little sauce, just ask for some more, easy fix! My teenager had a southern fried chicken burger with onion rings and is still raving about how good it was, hours later. The burger was huge and flavourful and the onion rings were hot and perfectly crispy. Overall, we have no complaints, only great things to say about this place. The staff, food, value and cleanliness all get 5/5 from us. It’s great to see an actual good BBQ place in the Fraser Valley. Also a bonus is the affordability, it’s cheaper than going to White Spot, Boston Pizza or any other overpriced chain restaurant.
Had my birthday lunch at PitMasters in Mission BC today. The menu has a great selection. Very friendly staff. My hubby had the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings & I decided on the combo pulled pork & beef brisket. Lots of food. Brought some home & we shared a slice of pecan pie. The meat was moist but not enough rub flavor coming through. The sauces were good. The pecan pie was amazing. PitMasters is relatively new. If you have never had southern BBQ from Huntsville Alabama, Lubbock Texas, Cuba Missouri or Phillipsburg Montana then you don't know what you're missing. Next best to southern BBQ is my BBQ even my BBQ needs work compared to southern. But for restaurants in the BC area, I would recommend PitMasters over Memphis Blues. Sorry I can't give you 5 stars but it comes close.
I'd say 3.5 stars. I got the pulled pork sandwich. It had a good taste. Just wished there was a bit more sauce and coleslaw as some bites were a tiny bit dry and slightly tougher to chew but not bad!! It was more or less the consistency throughout the sandwich. Most bites were awesome then some were slightly dry although very tasty. The Mexican rice was a nice unique sidedish. Will be going back there to try the ribs next. I know I am picky though and compare dishes to how I could make them at home. I would have added a time bit more sauce to the pulled pork and more slaw to make it more of a stacked sandwich. Photo is of the Mexican rice.
This is a great little BBQ / Mex restaurant. Big on bbq dishes like pulled pork, bbq meat. We decided on burgers for lunch, and found that they were 1/2 pounders. Great and abundant toppings. Good beverage menu. No street parking, but a parking lot in the rear. Would eat here again, easily!
Had lunch there today. Food was good and server was helpful and not overbearing. If you look at all the single star reviews they are the only review done by many of these creatively named people. Looks like someone is doing their best to give this place a bad name.. maybe a disgruntled employee??? My brisket was tender and my ribs were quite good. Reviews of needing a hacksaw or very dry seem way to similar and repetitive. Don’t take my word for it. Give them a try and I’m pretty sure you wont be disappointed. Make your own decision. On a side note I spoke with the owner to ask him what kind of wood they used for smoking because I smoke BBQ at home. Didn’t come across as pushy or wanting good reviews. Seemed like a decent average guy.
Awesome food! One of the best burgers and pulled pork I have ever had! 10/10 for food. Poutine was awesome as well. Amazing BBQ sauce and portion sizes are great with a good price to go along with it. I would recommend Pitmasters to anyone and I will be going back again real soon!
Excellent food. We ordered take out for the office - 4 of us split 2 Texas Cheesesteak briskets - we're not big eaters, so it was the perfect size for lunch. The brisket had a beautiful smoky flavour, the bbq sauce had an amazing flavour, and was the perfect amount. The brisket was fall-apart fabulous. I had heard through other reviews and word of mouth that there wasn't much smoke flavour to the meat, but that was absolutely not the case with our meals. The fries were excellent, skin on, perfectly cooked & seasoned. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the quality of the food and experience. Can't wait to try other menu items. Pic might be missing some fries ;
We came for first time and food was very delicious, mouth watering. Staff is very welcoming. Food preparation was awesome. Home made Salsa was out of the world.
Amazing food and amazing staff. The food had a true smoke house taste and the sandwiches had so much meat that we had to tap out from being so stuffed, We definitely will be coming back for more
I like to share the following with all Google users. The full names of the people in this posting were left out to protect their identity and to make Google users aware of what happened to the Pitmaster BBQ Restaurant : As a mother and part owner of the Pitmaster BBQ Restaurant in Mission BC, I like to respond to a meeting we had on March 12th with the parents of a sixteen year old girl. My son Mike and I invited the parents to our restaurant, to discuss their daughter -------- a former employee of our business, who was dismissed from her job as a waitress, the reason being that she did not do her job, although, she was trained like all the other girls. Mike gave her three chances to correct herself. Instead of taking care of our customers, ------ was caught several times in the restroom texting, while the food for our customers was sitting on the counter, getting cold. I was one of the persons waiting for my food and I finally ask another server to bring it to me. Our intention to talk to the parents was meant well, as we believe their daughter and other friends are the ones writing very bad reviews on Google about our business, most likely in retaliation of ------- dismissal, The mother admitted to this and said she wrote a bad review too. Some of these reviews I consider to be criminal and very damaging to our newly opened restaurant. When we ask the parents to meet with us, we expected that they would offer to talk to their daughter and perhaps ask her to remove these slanderous and damaging posts on Google, instead, to our surprise, the mother was angry and got up and left. Rather than disciplining her daughter and telling her that this is not the right way to destroy somebodies business, the mother encouraged her daughter to do so. As a mother myself, I always thought that I would be interested to know what my sixteen year old daughter is up to and why she was dismissed. The same day of our meeting, on March 12th, the parents returned to the restaurant with a large group of people wanting to talk to the owner. We had left already and one of our waitresses called us. Was this suppose to be a threat? Sadly, since we have not been able to solve this problem in a peaceful way and since the attacks are getting more frequent and worse, we have no choice but hand this over to the courts. We are a locally owned family, mother, son and grandson. You might want to read some of the following one star slanderous reviews that were posted against our business under "fake" names, or under the names of friends, or relatives.
