Good spot to get a sweet snack and coffee. The baklava was a little different than what I am used to in the GTA but delicious. Light on sweetness and fresh. Also had a latte. This was the best coffee drink I've had in the west coast, out of what I tried so far anyway! Recommend a visit! The staff is absolutely lovely!
It is a must. I loved it there. Great vibe, nice and friendly staff. The kunafeh was wonderful. It was great because it did not have that much sweet like other places, the taste was authentic, it felt like I am eating one at home, definitely must try it. Keep it like this, I will absolutely come back .
It warms my heart to see little dessert shops like this, not within a fancy hotel, not having a Michelin chef, just an owner who loves to bake and create. Pistachio is a small shop hidden away off a busy street. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their pistachio cake and the special chai. Not overly sweet but definitely creamy. The owner and the worker were both very friendly. You can tell that they love this shop and the food they make.
I tried the pistachio cheesecake, baklava and Mamul pastries. They were all delicious, not very sweet and you could tell they were made with fine ingredients. Highly recommend it if you want to taste some middle eastern sweets. Beautiful and cozy decorations Just outside is a bit sketchy at nights with homelesses
Absolutely amazing dessert! We ordered the lemon cheese cake and the Sebastian cheese cake…both were delicious. We also ordered a box of baclava and that didn’t last very long with the family. The Turkish coffee was perfect and the staff was very patient in showing us how it’s made and taking our order. Lots of seating for the whole family.
Wandered in here by complete chance today and I’m glad that I did. The café has a lovely interior and is located in a very central part of downtown. Their wide range of baklava caught my eye and the staff who were excellent even through in a free one just for me to try out. I’ll definitely be coming back to try some more!
The cafe looks great visually. It has a good vibe. The seats are nice and comfy. It’s a pretty good place if you want to hang out with friends for an hour or so. I enjoyed the Turkish coffee. I’m not sure if brewing Turkish coffee with cardamom is usual or not but it was different, warm, and pleasant. I strongly suggest the rice puddings. Here the things I didn’t like: - The food wouldn’t give you a good experience. We had the cheese and the beef options and they just weren’t remotely good. They were heated in the microwave so the the bread will be soft and non-crispy. There are other places in Vancouver making the same dishes fresh in the oven. - The Nutella cheesecake was mediocre. I don’t complain but it wasn’t special. Maybe I should’ve gone with other options. Pistachio maybe? In general, it was a good one-time experience. If you go there, try Turkish coffee, rice pudding, and another cheesecake. If you’re looking for a good Turkish “food” experience, I would not suggest it.
I had Karak tea and lotus cheesecake. Both of the items were extremely delicious. Jonathan the barista was very friendly. There are plenty of unique middle-eastern dessert options there and I will definitely go back and try all of them one at a time. The ambience of the place is cozy and comfortable. Great place to catch up with friends or just to sit by yourself and finish some work or study whenever it is not too busy.
The baklava was excellent. The sweet cheese roll not so much - it had an unpleasant bubble gum flavor. The baklava tasted really fresh- you could taste the dough. The sweetness was perfect.
Cozy cafe with real middle eastern treats that can be tricky to find else where helawt jibn anyone?. The San Sebastián cheesecake was delicious. Really enjoyed the Arabic and Turkish coffee but took a star off because the Arabic coffee was expensive for the small cup given. We expected a small pot to come with it for another serving the way the Turkish coffee comes out. Didn’t have time to inquire about it as we had a movie to catch but doesn’t seem right to pay $5 ish for a small cup. I’ll still come back regardless!
