In 2001 with one open pit barbecue and little else, we began serving Santa Maria style tri tip at the Old Wizer’s Grocery in Lake Oswego, Oregon. After several summer seasons that always seemed to stretch into November, we had outgrown our corner of the former market. The little take out place down the road at 63rd Street was our temporary home, until we found a little house on B Avenue.
For years after that, B Avenue was home to Logan’s Backyard Barbecue named for Matt’s Son Logan. Much of the menu and preparation, for what would become Pine Shed Ribs, was worked out in the basement of that little house on B.
Nearly 10 years after we sliced the first trip tip in Wizer's lot, our new building and barbecue are up and running. We have not moved very far on the map, but our menu has come a long way. In many ways, we haven’t changed much in a decade and that seems like a really good thing.
