Such a cute shop and brilliant idea! Go on a little picnic as a group, as a couple or on your own by the lake. They have an assortment of baskets and if you call ahead of time you can book a specific one. You can pre-order your food or you can walk in. The baskets and blankets are for rent. We had such a lovely time and the folks at PicNic are so friendly and very personable! Definitely recommend if you're spending an afternoon at NOTL!
I did not go on the picnic experience. But I bought a $15 sandwich.. FIFTEEN.. that was most likely 2 days old. I bought a Fig & Brie Sandwich, you would think they would warm up the "sandwich" so the cheese at least melts. The bread was stale, coming to its end of life, they spread fig jam, spread walnuts and gave me COLD BRIE CHEESE. Can you imagine what that tastes like? I should never have paid for a sandwich that I did not open or see before I left.. Tip: Please review your pricing, please change this sandwich, please review the menu.
I booked myself a night away in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The main focus of the trip was to bike ride so I ordered a Picnic from PicNic by Cheese Secrets in advance. I picked it up before biking back to my hotel, and stopped on the way at a little bench of my choosing in front of the beautiful Niagara River. The picnic was packed in an environmentally friendly fashion, in brown kraft bags and containers. I ordered a ham sandwich, potato salad, hummus and crostini, and a cookie. I wasn't sure what to expect from the meal but MY GOODNESS, it was gourmet! Every single item in the lunch was carefully crafted with a unique and delicious flavour. I tried so hard to take my time and enjoy it! Truth be told there was so much I was only able to eat the salad, hummus and crostini, and a bite of cookie. I saved the sandwich and the remainder of the cookie for dinner and was so excited to extend the picnic! I kid you not when I say I want to book another trip to Niagara soon just to have another PicNic by Cheese Secrets!
After looking around for a while we never found a decent restaurant in the area. We ended up lunching at PicNic and it was the best decision! I strongly recommend going there for your lunch if you are in town, it is way better than any restaurant on the street where everything is fried food or not-fresh and tasteless salads. We had a great service at PicNic by a very nice and friendly lady. Very good and fresh salads, sandwiches, and snacks.
Beautiful, fresh and delicious salads, baked goods and sandwiches, where you can find Cheese Secrets quality artisanal cheeses infused into their dishes. Loved their coffee and baked goods as a snack while walking around on Queen street in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Stop by Cheese Secrets on the way home to get some cheese to go, it's a whole cheese experience!
I dont know about picnic but solid scones and cold coffee
A wonderful addition to the town!
