It was a day I decided to come to this restaurant to check out.nnService was okay; servers were professional. It was busy on that day. Restaurant was loud with a lot of customers and it got busier. When I left there was no seat left.nnThe food was not good. My pork was burnt. The rice combo tasted dried and not delicious. I tried the new fried chicken dish which was too oil. It also didn’t look too fresh. Pho was again not too good or bad. I think I got another spring roll dish too. Price was slightly lower compared to other restaurants. What I mostly don’t like wasn’t about the taste but more of how the food was presented. I’m a little picky when it comes to presentation because I’ve tried hundreds of restaurants over the years. Overall I won’t come back because there are better options.
Great food that isn’t too salty. Nice find in a strip mall I don’t frequent. Recommended for a home made Vietnamese pho taste! Would visit again! Prices are reasonable and not inflated like other places. Meat portions are good, staff are friendly.
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my experience at Pho Tai Bac.nnI ordered the pho with rare beef and well-done brisket. The brisket I received was almost entirely fat, with very little actual meat. I showed it to the server because I genuinely felt it was not reasonable to serve brisket like this, but the response was simply that there was nothing wrong with it. I was extremely disappointed with the way my concern was handled. No alternative or solution was offered, and I was basically expected to accept it as it was.nnThe beef also had a strong unpleasant smell, and the broth was disappointing — mostly just salty without much depth or richness in flavour.nnI also ordered the spring rolls. They were okay and edible, but nothing particularly impressive.nnOverall, I was disappointed not only with the food, but especially with the way the server responded when I raised a reasonable concern about the quality of the brisket.nnI will not be returning.
i wish i could give pho tai bac more than 5 stars!! i’ve been going here for YEARS and they consistently have the best prices, portions, AND quality for viet food across the entire GTA!! it’s been my favourite restaurant and based on years of history, i don’t see that changing anytime soon!! bonus that their workers are so easy going and friendly!!
We arrived around 6:30 p.m. on a Sunday and had to wait for a table. The restaurant is quite small, so seating can feel a bit cramped depending on where you’re placed.nnWe ordered two XL pho bowls, shrimp rolls, and fried boneless chicken. The portions were generous and reasonably priced. The food was tasty and satisfying overall.nnOne thing to note is that the restaurant only accepts debit or cash.
