Free popcorn, free peanuts, free nachos, free pool, how can you beat that!? Angela is a great bartender! Only downfall is that the owner is apparently a Packers fan.
This is a great little place first locals looking for an early night out. Great, friendly staff, great drinks, and relaxed environment. Only drawback is that Karaoke on the weekends shuts down at 10:15 and shuts down bar service at 10:30... On a Saturday night. I know it's a small town but really early for an adult establishment to shut down.
Bartender was great Wednesday night, could have offered pizza or more to eat, beer was good and cold. Pool tables were filthy. But bartender made it tolerable.
Tip: Cash only bar, so bring some. Staff is friendly, but doesn’t put up with BS. Karaoke every other Friday night. Awesome place to chill. Did I mention free popcorn and free nachos on the weekends? Yum!
I rode up with a couple Des Moines buddies. Great bar, fun atmosphere, love the Packers stuff - Go Pack Go! Candy was excellent. She served the coldest Bud lights. . . one actually slushied right out the top. That's talent! I'll be back!
Best Bar in Winterset everyone that works there is quick to bring your order with a smile and always checks to see if you need a refill or would like something else. If you are from outta town they always strike up a conversation and ask where your from and if its your first time in Winterset. They are real helpful also if you need directions or if you need a question answered. The owner is also fun to sit and have a drink with and visit with. Hes a big Packers fan so if your not then he will makesure he gives you a hard time about your team. The place is always clean with clean bathrooms. Its brightly decorated and has alot of interesting things on the walls. The first things i always notice in small town bars is if the people that work there and the regulars are friendly and if they make you feel welcome or not. You always feel welcome at Pleasant Run. No matter what u order they will make it or find out how too. Good Music on the jukebox no matter what you are into.

The bar is a Packers bar and yet they don't even have NFL Package. The bar is already a run down dump and no Packers. I will never go to this bar again.
