Best Thai food I ever had and already one of my favourite places in Toronto. Got the massaman curry and it tasted amazing, creamy texture, tofu was done well, and it looked beautiful too. Portions are generous, particularly given the price, which means more of the brilliant food. We got the mango sticky rice to go as a desert, and again, absolutely brilliant. Get one of their coconut smoothies while you're there. Owner and staff are awesome. They were helpful selecting the right dish me being vegan and all, answering any questions about the food where to buy good coconut cream and just chat a bit. He offered to change dishes to make them vegan, although I recommend you just get one of the curries if you're vegan, cause you'll just lose out on flavour if they have to take out fish sauce or shrimp paste. While clearly a take-out restaurant, they were happy to have us eat in. If you like Thai food, you should be getting your food here. If you think you don't like Thai food, this place will change, and blow, your mind!
LOVE THIS PLACE!! Brings me back to Thailand. Owner is dedicated to spectacular service as much as he is with his amazing food. I ordered a chicken curry .. which probably is my favourite curry as of yet. I also ordered their pad thai and their aromatic fried rice. Every was so flavourful and although I was so full from their huge servings, I couldn't stop eating. Their crispy tofu, mango salad and chicken wings are the best pairing with any meal. Not to mention their coconut milkshake and thai iced tea .. it was like I stepped into a local eatery in Thailand. Thanks for such a memorable experience. I will be back soon with my whole family.
What a surprisingly delicious visit! We went out of our way to come to this location, as per the reviews and we are so happy we did. Staff instantly welcome you. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated, and the vibes are relaxing and intimate. Chefs cook right in front of you! It is a small restaurant but luckily there is dine in. We absolutely loved the food! We are dying to come back and try the rest of the menu. Vegan options available, and you can essentially make every dish vegan such a good find!!
The best Thai takeout ever. I went 3 times in the first week I found them. The Khao Soi is amazing and hard to find. I recommend eating at one of their stools for anything crispy like the Taro fries. I also love the coconut smoothie and the Papaya salad. All the curries are fantastic.
One of my favourite places to get takeout. The flavours are amazing, the portions are great and it's decently priced. If I can pick a favourite dish here, I wouldn't be able to answer you because I like most of their menu items.
You never know they serve Thai food in this area this hole in the wall but hidden gem ... Three young men doing the cooking. 3 years in the business and they survive one of the biggest obstacles. SUPPORT LOCAL! Alright alright alright ... enough chit chat the Pad Kee Mao = Ugly Delicious tad bit sweet for me could use more heat. Chicken skewers were juicy and tasty with great dipping sauces but could by cook with charcoal grill to replicate Thai Street food. Wait for round 2 with more reviews :
If you're looking for delicious, authentic Thai food, look no further than this hidden gem! Phat Kaphrao offers a range of Thai dishes beyond the typical curries and pad thai to delight your taste buds. I had the Khao Man Gai chicken on fried rice during my recent visit. The chicken was soft and tender, and the accompanying sauce had a strong ginger taste that made the dish stand out. I appreciated that it was boneless, which made it very easy to eat. My friends tried the Phat Kaphrao Stir fried meat with rice and Padthai, both very fragrant and fresh. One thing I noted was how friendly and helpful the restaurant personnel were. They were happy to answer our questions, offer chilli oil on the side, and even recommended the level of spiciness for our dishes. I ordered mine medium-spicy, which had just the right amount of heat for my taste. The restaurant was small, with only four seats. We were lucky because we did not know about it but could still dine in. Most people ordered takeout instead. Overall, I had an enjoyable experience and would recommend Phat Khaphrao to anyone looking for authentic and flavourful Thai food. I can't wait to return and order more dishes, this time to go!
I kept reading reviews of this place so I was taken to this place for lunch for my birthday. We ordered a lot cause sure wanted leftovers for supper to feed her kids and hubby. The lunch specials are a great deal and I highly recommend you get those. Comes with rice and soup! So we ordered lunch special: pad Thai, massaman curry, holy basil Regular dishes we ordered basil eggplant, pad see ew glass noodles, yellow curry It was interesting that he adds fresh peppercorns to the dish. It looks pretty and I bit one to make sure lol and it was black pepper alright. Would I go back? Yes for sure I’d get the lunch specials plus the taro fries and I liked his glass noodles. A bit peppery but I like the flavour
2022 April 4.5 Located on a busy street, there isn't much foot traffic in the evening, so you might miss this restaurant. This is a small restaurant serving Thai foods that will impress you for the most part. Your here because they serve a variety of unique Thai appetizers and dishes that you might not find elsewhere in the city. The store frontage is small. There are two bar stools for dine in available, but currently it's take out only. Taro Fries 6.95$ Crispy outside and fried perfectly with tenderness inside, this comes in several pieces with a side of a yogurt style dipping sauce. Quite good. Cashew Chicken Wings 11.95$ Deep fried and glazed with a spicy sweet sambal style sauce, though there's supposed to be cashews in it. There were a few pieces in the box. Good. Chicken Stay 9.95$ Four skewers of marinated grilled chicken with a side of peanut sauce. I've had significantly better elsewhere, so while this wasn't bad, I'd pass in the future. Pad See Ew with Chicken option 14.95$ Stir fried thick rice noodles with Chicken and broccoli with a Thai twist. There's some other seasonings and it's peppery. There's fresh peppers in the dish. Very good. Would recommend it as well if you haven't already tried. Thai iced tea 4.25$ Not bad. Pretty standard of the Thai iced tea if you have had it before. Limited Paid Street parking is available in front. Worth checking out.
The staff were so friendly and considerate. We ordered a Thai iced tea, massaman curry, and Thai fried rice. The curry was super creamy and the potatoes were perfectly soft. The fried rice was spicy with lots of tofu pieces. There is just enough seating for maybe four patrons - it’s mostly a takeout spot - but I’m glad we got to dine in. It was a good vibe.
