After I lost my old cat I decided to adopt a new cat and made the trip to this shelter. Cats are allowed to roam loose in a room and freely interact with each other. I decided on a two year old little cat that seemed to be friendly.I noticed that a few cats in the room were not very healthy, one was coughing continuously but was assured that it was just litter dust. After she was with me for a while I noticed that she stopped eating. I rushed her to the vet and she was diagnosed with an ear infection. I treated it but it reappeared again the vet treated her. Again the infection reoccured. The vet now thinks she has a food allergy that is the root of the problem. I now have to keep her on a special diet for her health. Maybe doing a little bit more one on one with the cats and noticing health issues would be a good idea. I love my cat but I would have liked to know about all her health problems up front and not find out about it over time.
Adopted our 2 sweet kittens here last summer. If you are considering adopting a cat/kitten, PFFL is definitely the place to go. This facility is cage-free, allowing the cats to interact and roam the shelter freely. Likely in part because of this, the cats are especially social and comfortable around other cats and people. The staff/volunteers here are so dedicated to this shelter and to finding these cats good homes. The adoption was such a positive experience, and I would highly recommend PFFL to anyone considering adopting!
Amazing volunteers and staff here who genuinely care for the cats that are brought in. Adopted two of the sweetest cats from here; PFFL helped with getting veterinary care and any concerns I had while they were in my care as fosters. They were willing to go above and beyond for me and I remain in contact with them to this day on the gradual growth and development.
they are really nice people that know how to treat cats/kittens with respect and the kittens are well taken care of and make sure the cats/kittens are NOT agresive and they do take donations to help feed the cats/kittens
Don’t go here all the cats in the front have FIV and they lied about it. Went here a year ago they wouldn’t take the cat back and put my cats at risk. The cat wasn’t fixed gave me the wrong paperwork I had to end up rehoming him for my cats safety. Ended up losing 300$ for an extremely ill unfixed flea ridden cat. I finally have the nerve to comment something after everything that happens but, they delete bad reviews so this probably won’t stay up long
Adopted Odette in February of 2020 and it was the best animal finding/adoption experience we've had. My Mom mentioned how she liked seeing the cats roam freely in designated areas without cages, how the kittens are seperate from adults, the at home calm vibe this atmoaphere gives to the cats, and of course how hands-on the staff are. We saw multiple staff members over the two hours pay attention to various cats, hold/acknowledge/pet them, check up on the food/water, and basically seem to know each one of the cats like it was their own. Adopted her at 8 months old and now she's nearly a year and a half. Posted 3 pictures of Odette: bookshelf, and windows. : Thanks again!
This shelter has come a long way in the last three years since a new Board of Directors took over. The volunteers have made every effort to improve standards in the shelter. The cats and kittens receive individual care and are well looked after. By having a roam free environment, the cats are allowed to socialize and are much more adoptable. You can see that the shelter has made leaps and bounds when it comes to organization, cleanliness and sanitization. The management works with adopters to make sure things go as smoothly as possible. They even make every effort to make a smooth transition for cats that are surrendered and brought to the shelter. Volunteering here is really rewarding!
Love and care for the cats here is overwhelming. I walk by everyday and play with the kittens in the window. This place deserves any help they can get, and the adoption fees are some of the lowest I've ever heard of. If you are looking for a new fluffy friend in your life please consider adopting from here, all the cats are fixed and vaccinated and they have a lot that could use a forever home. They are always looking for volunteers and donations so if you have the opportunity, please take it.
An amazing shelter that fosters cats from birth to the elderly. The cats are allowed to roam free, no cages here and the very friendly and helpful volunteers know each cat by name and their personalities , likes and dislikes. If you are looking for a furbaby to join your family this is the best place to look. Go in and spend some time with them and see which one warms up to you and which one or ones you fall in love with. I definitely recommend this shelter if you are looking for a new cat or cats to join your family!!
Pets/Friends for Life provides outstanding veterinary care to all their cats. The staff are very kind and clearly all love animals. We are so lucky to have Pets/Friends for Life working in our community : We adopted a cat from here who needed extensive medical care before being adopted and Pets/Friends took great care of her. Thank you!!
