I’m biased by beautiful weather, a fun group, and a truly spectacular show put on by a pair of humpback whales. I can’t promise you those things. But this was a great boat, with a knowledgeable and connected crew whose friends directed us right toward the whales. You could drive further to get to other places where you might spend less time on the boat, but… why would you want to do that? Great food and facilities before departure too, which is also helpful for anyone waiting for the ferry.
Comfortable vessel. Generous seating space, with option to take turns on a 2nd level viewing deck. Boat does not have vending machines, but does have a washroom. Boat tour was 3 hours. Approx 45 minute trip to/ from area with whale activity, with remainder of time spent observing. Crew was very friendly and kept a running commentary of whale species and explanations of behaviour.
You don`t necessarily need to travel the world to get lasting memories. Some special experiences can do all the magic and inspire one's mind for an entire lifetime. For many, it may be watching a fantasy movie or reading a book, but one fact remains; such unique whale watch experience can satisfy a person's deepest imaginations. Different travelers might have different unique things they wish to experience, but these are so unique that they can create lifetime memories and also become stories that will inspire the next generation.Best Captain, amazing experience and best food & chowder in Halifax.
This tour was amazing! The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable about whales and the local environment. While it is never guaranteed to see a whale, we were so lucky and watched two whales feeding for a full hour! We saw a variety of other marine life on our way in and out of the harbour as well. Stunning scenery, and very organized operation. Would definitely recommend! Pro-tip: Go early and get lunch at the café!
Absolutely fantastic experience. Despite the rough water we were still able to see a humpback! The crew was fantastic, knowledgeable and truly seem to care about their passengers on board. Would highly recommend booking with Petit Passage!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes

We had a wonderful time! It was beautiful, cool and windy on the water on such a hot day! They handed out soft blankets to those who needed an extra layer and had so much knowledge to share about the whales and birds we saw. My youngest suffers from some motion sickness, but had no trouble on the boat! We saw so many whales! Total bucket list thing to do! Didn't manage to catch a photo, but one humpback whale breached spectacularly, alas I caught the splash, but not the whale!
Incredible experience today!!! Very lucky to have seen 8 whales, including 2 baby calves playing within a few metres of the boat!!! Captain and crew were very professional and it was awesome to see them as grateful and excited as all of the guests to see so many of these beautiful animals!!! Take the time to go on this tour!! It was well worth the time and cost!!!
Got to see humpback whales. The crew was friendly and informative. Could cut it down a bit, and maybe do it in 2.5 hrs. 4 hrs was a long haul. Especially battling seasickness.
