Just recently picked up a water box Al35.2 Was incredibly happy with the service from Jordan and Dave in the purchase of my first salt tank! I would highly recommend them to anyone
These people do not really care if your tank survives or not. They use a copper treatment for their new arrival fish supply, to suppress, not cure, any disease they may have. Then when you bring your fish home to your tank, your water is contaminated. And the copper in the water, kills crustaceans! I spent and lost $150 worth of crustaceans because of this. And they blamed me for the copper content, but I was buying my replacement -cleaning water from this store lol. Then they don’t mind charging you astronomical amounts of money, to treat your water later. I only found out about this copper problem from someone close to the store. They sold me a blue tang, for my 16 gallon tank, knowing how much this fish meant to me, for $160.00, which after some research and opinions from local enthusiasts, turned out that my tank was way to small. In fact, a blue tang can’t live in anything less than a 90 gallon tank. The tank was so small that the tang turned aggressive and ate one of my other fish. When owner was confronted with this last issue, he was very rude, and said none of this was his fault, and offered no help at all. And asked me “what’s the big deal? You’ll have to re-home the fish after two years, because your tank is too small!” If I had of known that, I wouldn’t have purchased the fish. These people seem to only care about lining their pockets. And are not afraid to remind customers that they’re the only store in town. There are many local resources, to help fix your tank if you have been buying from this store. Good luck.
Very nice and knowledgeable. Less stock than other stores, but the quality is a lot better. You'll never get sick fish from here.
Great place to start our continue your hobbies. Staff is incredibly knowledgable. Would have given it 5 stars if they had more fish stock... But they always have tons of corals!
Great shop, especially given the location. There is not a better store further north but you will also find uncommon things that are not necessarily readily available in southern Ontario. Both times I've visited found uncommon angels. Nice selection of other fish and even sea horses. Decent coral selection with good selection of dry goods too.
Everything is SO pretty must see! Amazing saltwater fishes and corals.
Bought some freshwater fish on two different occasions over a few months. Both times the fish were extremely healthy and didn't even need to be quarantined. Great gut on em all and awesome fins. Decent selection and helpful, very very friendly staff. Even some really nice, hard to find plants at a very fair price! cheaper than Ebay even Beats any big box store any day. Great quality and value.
I was in the store last Thursday to buy three koi fish. I told the staff that it was my first time having fish. I brought them home and put them into the pond and found one dead today it's been four days I proceeded to call them to find out why and he said that I needed to acclimate them and that he wouldn't have fed them. I had no clue! I wasn't told anything about it at the time I purchased them. I asked him to replace the fish considering the issue and because I should have been given care instructions. He agreed that I should have been told but that he wasn't going to replace the dead fish. I have to say that I am very upset about there poor business. I won't be going back.
Decent place, but all the harlequin rasboras I got from here died. Might have been an issue with my tank, however. I also got a driftwood piece, as well as a java fern, and the fern is still alive and doing quite well. This store mostly seems to focus on saltwater fish though. I enjoy visiting to look at everything they have to offer!
Just went there today and purchased a small beta fish and a small catfish. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, and were extremely knowledgeable about the fish. They also really didn't take advantage of my lack of fish experience - gave me what I exactly what I needed : Fish are all healthy and happy, and great prices! Will be returning to get more fish soon!
