Clothes fit well, good quality fabric, well stitched. Folks giving low ratings, understand the business model you are buying in to. As his price is quite low for a tailored piece - He takes measurements and then orders the tailored clothes from overseas. He doesn't have assistants on phone. He visits Calgary once every 2 weeks. Expect it to take 8 weeks. Expect to write an email / call them to confirm the clothes are here. Don't order your wedding suits and such stuff and then complain that it takes time.
I ordered online on a Monday night when in a crunch as I was working out of town and did not bring my favorite shirts. I prefer made-to-measure shirts because I have an uncommon body size long short torso and it is hard to find a good fit off the rack slim fit shirt for me. I was worried about turn-around time. I spoke with Adin the next day to see if I could get them in two weeks. They put a rush on the shirts for me. I was happy that they arrived in about two weeks. I was sick of wearing the same shirts while conducting sales force training and meetings with key clients throughout Alberta. The shirts are awesome, fit well and are made of quality materials. I really appreciate the rush on the shirts. A key factor in my professional success is appearance and even when others think I look good, I need to feel I look good, which custom fit shirts do for me. I am actually booked to visit their Toronto store to get fitted for suits and will review once I receive them.
While I was traveling to Alberta I had been looking for custom fitted shirts as most dress shirts that fit my shoulders properly are too short for my arms. I visited Peter Parvez online and found their site easy to navigate and with prices I was happy with. I came in for a measurement and the team was very professional. They answered all my questions and asked me questions as well to make sure my fitting would be perfect. When I received my shirts, they fit perfectly and were exactly how I ordered them! The entire process was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend anyone looking for custom shirts visit Peter Parvez.
You should ABSOLUTELY NOT go to Peter Parvez to get anything. This is my experience with the Calgary location, and with Peter Parvez himself. I have ordered from Peter Parvez before and had no issues, but this time was different. I ordered 4 shirts and a blazer. About a month later I set up an appointment to try them on and pick them up, but only the blazer was there when I arrived. I was told they would contact me when the shirts arrived. I was never contacted, and my repeated emails where continually ignored and don't even bother trying to phone, they never pick up. Frustrated, I booked an appointment to go and either pick up my shirts, or get a refund. I get there and my shirts are not there, and I was told to contact the Toronto office if I wanted a refund. After over a dozen phone calls at different times, I finally got Peter on the line, he informs me my shirts were never ordered, and proceed to barter with me on how much of a refund to offer me. Since they don't do itemized receipts, it was my word vs his on how much I paid for the shirts and how much I paid for the blazer that I did receive. Finally we agree on a refund of $200 I actually paid $260 for 4 premium fabric shirts. The refund was not email transfered by the date promised. When emailed about it repeatedly, he said he would do it at the end of the week. That date rolls by, still no refund. I finally had to send a threatening email threatening BBB complaint, terrible reviews, continual booking of appointments to not show up to, etc. Finally, after this, I receive my email transfer of $200. It is January 16, 2017. My initial appointment was Oct. 19, 2016. Glad to finally put it to rest. Needless to say, I do not recommend you go to Peter Parvez for any of your tailoring or bespoke needs.
If you need custom suits or need anything to get altered please do not go here. It will save you a lot of time and disappointment. It’s not a coincidence that the two newest reviews both gave this company a 1 star rating. So we ordered and paid Peter Parvez in early July to get 4 customs fit suits and 1 vest for a wedding on Sept 27. As they were measuring us, it felt really rushed but they assured us that they know what they are doing. After they took these measurements, we lost basically all contact with them. They would not answer our phone calls or emails. We had to book appointments to actually get in contact with them and figure out when we would be getting our suits. It took until the middle of August to actually try on these suits, as they lost the groom’s suit in transit. This was really unprofessional and pushed the timeline back. Once the groom tried the suit on, it was extremely big on him. The vest he ordered was also the wrong colour. We are now three days before the wedding and the groom does not have a fitted suit for his own wedding. He also has not received his vest as of yet. We do not trust Peter Parvez to alter the suit so we went to another tailor who was shook that a custom tailor shop would give a suit that was not even close to the person’s body shape. We are paying an additional $400 for alterations from this other tailor to fix all that is wrong with the suit. Weddings are stressful. Peter Parvez has made it a 100 times more stressful.
Summer 2018 I ordered a suit, 3 shirts and 2 pairs of pants from Peter Parvez a year ago and had a great experience. This was with a gentleman named Abe who was great to deal with and was very friendly and personable. Fast forward a year... Summer 2019 This good experience with Abe led to my unfortunate decision to get my 5 groomsmen suits from Peter Parvez thankfully I decided to get my own suit from somewhere else. I met with a man named Peter supposedly of Peter Parvez and negotiated a deal to get all of my groomsmen suits from there for a set price. From that first discussion, Peter seemed a little sketchy but I still went through with it because of the previous experience with Abe...plus...how bad could it be, right?, so I got the price from him in writing. The very first groomsman to meet with him got measured and then Peter tried to rip him off and charge them a higher price. Luckily, I was nearby and went to the appointment to show him the agreed upon price. A month later the suits finally came in, a couple of them needed alterations because the jackets were baggy and the pants were too tight. Peter said he would alter them in two weeks, but then we never heard from him. Peter ignored all phone calls and emails from us trying to figure out what was going on. We decided we would just book an appointment with him which took another two weeks because he isn't in Calgary all of the time to pick up the suits, and I'm certain that they were never even altered. They looked like they did before. Peter offered to alter them again and we could just pick them up from the alteration place in a week which left a two day buffer before the wedding. Since one of the groomsman was wearing the suit, we asked where this alteration place is and we can just go there right now. Peter said "I don't know what the place is called and I don't really know where it is...". What a joke. We said we would keep the suits and get them altered at our own place. There was no way I was going to rely on Peter. He said that we can send him the alteration bill and he'll pay us back, but I know that was the biggest joke of all. We'll never see that money back. Peter, thanks for nothing.
As a big guy, I have trouble finding shirts that fit well and have options in colours and patterns. Measurements and fabric selections at Peter Parvez went extremely quickly with a ton of choices. Picked up my shirts and they were exactly, if not better, than expected and fit absolutely perfect. High quality and great service. Will definitely recommend to friends and will certainly be back soon.
I have bought 9 custom dress shirts from Peter Parvez in the last couple years and they are my favourite shirts in my closet. I'm a 6'6 so buying shirts off the rack has always proved troublesome. Abe takes his time to measure meticulously so the final product is perfect. And if you need adjustments to a suit, he does them without question. Affordable prices too, comparable and sometimes cheaper than department stores!
We ordered shirts from the Calgary location and paid for them to be shipped to our house so we did not have to go back downtown. I got an email September 5th stating that they shirts were ready to be picked up and to schedule an appointment. I reminded him that we paid extra for shipping and he said alright they would arrive Monday. The shirts did not arrive. I have emailed numerous times with no reply. I then call the number and he does not pick up and the voicemail is full.
Like many recent reviewers, I have had a very negative experience with Peter. I ordered two suits which came extremely poorly tailored - they were not fitted but extremely baggy. Additionally, he/his tailors managed to misspell my surname in the embroidered label, an unreversable mistake. He suggested I take the suits to a Calgary tailor to get them fixed and then he would refund me for the alteration costs. I duly did so to the tune of $150, but on presentation of the receipt, Peter ghosted me, declining to reply to either my multiple emails, or answer my phone calls to both Calgary and Toronto offices. Looking at the other reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one Peter owes a refund. I suspect that the five star reviews are either fake or from long ago when Peter's more affable acquaintance Abe was working here.
