We were on Emergency because my 2YO girl had bad breathing and cough. The whole team in the hospital was amazing! Everyone was very profesional and so nice to my girl. Thank you all a lot! We spent there almost one day and night. The room was nice and clean. We felt comfortable. I can only recomend this hospital.
I recently gave birth at this hospital, and I cannot express enough how wonderful my experience was. The care I received was absolutely exceptional. The doctor made the right decisions at every step, showing an impressive level of professionalism and expertise. The nurses were incredibly caring, attentive, and never left me alone for a single moment. They looked after my baby with such warmth and dedication, helping me with everything I needed.nnThanks to their skill and compassion, they made what could have been a stressful time into something truly beautiful. I am deeply grateful to the entire team — they worked a miracle. I have experience to compare with, and this was by far the best care I have ever received.
First of all the emergency was a 8 hr wait and when I talked to the triage nurse she told me that there are no beds. So after I got called to go to the emergency tent I needed a wheel chair which took over 10 min to find. Then was pushed to the tent and another 3+ hrs for the Dr. to see me and I'm set up for surgery. Now waiting for a bed. Being diabetic I needed to have something to eat but they didn't want me to eat. So I finally was able to get a bed. So I asked for something to eat but had to wait for Dr's approval. I waited till after 10 pm till I got toast. So stayed overnight with the blood lab taking some blood after bruising me up as they couldn't find my veins. Not good. Talked to the Dr. every morning for 3 days of starving and waiting. Three days to drain a abscess by surgery. The last day the Dr seen me and saying they would get me in today on day 3 and it didn't happen. So the Dr. Sent up a surgical team to do this in my bed. After barely freezing me they needed more freezing in my groin area on a wait, I got more freezing so they sliced me open drained most of my abscess but still a cyst there that they couldn't take out. So they left me, cut open draining in my bed and they couldn't find any bed sheets the HCA and nurses. So I was left to sleep in my bloody mess. Not happy! I ended up starving for 3 days and no operation which I should of had, but pushed aside. I was in bare feet from the first day as I was ready to go to surgery and used the washroom several times and to look at my feet totally black from the floors.SO DIRTY! To me I was stuck in a room for 3 days for a non complicated surgery with me taking up a bed that someone else needs. I will never go to this hospital again. No body went above and beyond to find bed sheets at another unit? A dirty crap hole!! Now a week after this I'm still hurting and not going back!! Try other hospitals as they might be better.
We went to this hospital for my brother, who was in a serious condition. Even after asking about the waiting time, we received a terrible response from the staff and no clear answer. We ended up waiting more than 10 hours, only to come back without any treatment at all.nThe staff were not only unhelpful but also extremely rude whenever we tried to ask for updates. Instead of showing care and professionalism, they made the whole experience more stressful and painful.nIt is unacceptable for a hospital to treat patients and families this way. Serious changes are needed in patient care, waiting times, and staff behavior.
I gave birth at Peter Lougheed Centre in December 2023 via C-section. It was my first birth, and while the surgery itself went well, what happened after was honestly a horrifying and deeply disappointing experience.nnLet me start with the positive: the surgical team was amazing. The doctors, nurses, and everyone in the operating room were professional, warm, and highly skilled. They made me feel safe, and I’m truly grateful for their care during the delivery.nnBut everything changed once I was moved to the postpartum unit. The lack of empathy and basic human decency from the nursing staff was shocking.nnI had just gone through major abdominal surgery. I was alone at one point because my husband had briefly stepped out, and I was holding my newborn, trying to breastfeed. A nurse came in to give me a pill. I kindly asked her to leave it on the table and said I’d take it in a moment because I had the baby in my arms. She firmly refused, saying: “You need to take it in front of me.”nI said “Okay, can you help me with the baby for a second?” She rolled her eyes and replied coldly: “You have to take it now.”nI felt completely disrespected and invisible in that moment. Not a shred of compassion.nnNo one offered to help me with breastfeeding or explain anything about caring for the baby after surgery – and this was my first time as a mother.nnLater, someone came to ask if I wanted dinner – I said yes. By 8:00 PM, I asked about it and was told “Oh, dinner was already served.” But I never received anything. By then, the food bar in the hospital was closed, and I went to bed that night without eating.nnBy Wednesday morning – barely 36 hours after the C-section – I was in unbearable pain. My husband said: “That’s it. We’re leaving.”nAnd honestly, if I had stayed there longer, I don’t know what would have happened to me.nnThis was supposed to be one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Instead, I left traumatized. I hope future mothers are treated with more kindness, support, and dignity. Respectful care should never be optional.
