While at first, reading the "feeling festive?" bit on their website seemed a little silly or gimmicky, it's actually a brilliant way to differentiate your food each time. She tried the sweet, I tried salty heat, and we were both surprised by how good it matched what we were craving. The staff mix it up to your taste "heat, do you want a 2, a 3" kind of thing. They cook it up and brought it to our table, and when we wanted to "up her heat" a little the food!, they brought out the most delicious hot dipping sauce. We were the only ones here at 11pm, thinking it might be because people are equating this place to the stir fry place that was here. Tried that and this place is NOTHING like the old restaurant. Highly recommend trying a new place here. They're open late 2am and super nice people. Can't recommend them, in person or by door dash, highly enough! Between wine sense and booster juice!
Former location of Palatal Express. We came here looking for that, but saw it was a different restaurant now. Figured it wouldn't hurt to try it. We were impressed. Service was good. Prices reasonable for what you get. Nice quiet atmosphere. Loved the paintings and murals on the walls. Very well done, and manitoba themed! Facility was nice and clean. Would recommend others to try out Pegs Bistro.
I am kinda confused at the high praise reviews for this restaurant. We had 2 stir fry’s and 2 drinks and it was over $50. A bit ridiculous in price for what you get. The food is mediocre; the selection of vegetables is very small and not anything like listed on their online menu. They wear gloves but grab everything with their hands. Meat is by weight and they have no qualms about removing pieces from your bowl should it be overweight. That was shocking to me. There’s absolutely no ambiance in the restaurant… between the tv, radio and horrendously loud blender, good luck having a conversation. It’s mid February and they still have an obnoxious blinking Christmas tree up. It’s not particularly clean, especially the bathroom. It’s really not a “dine in” restaurant because you don’t even get proper cutlery, we were given flimsy plastic forks that were pretty useless. Food arrived at our table in a takeout box on a plastic tray. I was really unimpressed that my food had both carrot and onion in it… neither of which I ordered. I am not sure why you’d come here when the other stir fry place just down the road is 100x better.
loved the food, the staff were super helpful and knowledgeable. The guy helped us choose better and suggested all the deals and specials although he could have left us be and dont try all the goodies overall, for sure I will come back and recommend the place to my friends
Fast, fresh, and tasty food! Friendly staff and no skimping on portions! First came here after winning an Instagram contest and have been back a second time for the great food! Pick your noodles, meats, veggies, and sauces. Then the team cooks it all up for you and it’s served piping hot! So many possible combinations. They also have drinks, appetizers, and dessert. Forgot to take a photo of the excellent artwork on the walls.
Peg's is my go-to place when it comes to value and good food. The staff are friendly, and are always happy to customize my stir-fry exactly how I want it. In my case, it's mixed meats with beef, pork and no chicken. Throw in a couple eggs and make it spicy. Lemme tell you, that sh*t slaps.
This place is awesome, the service was great, the server was bang on with the sauce I asked her to choose. I had the Power Bowl, the serving size is huge, food was exceptional, cooked perfect and staff were friendly. Great ambiance, music and food. Definitely on the list for places to eat when visiting Winnipeg. Well done, well done.
Service deserves a 10 star rating. Staff is very attentive and helpful! Food is outstanding here. All the ingredients are super fresh, the dining area is very clean. I made my own stir fry and chose the Peg’s sauce which is a special blend they make. The sauce packs HUGE flavour. For me, it was a touch salty but I would get it again for sure. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in the area!
My two teens and I went on Saturday evening. Daughter loved the artsy decor. Son liked watching the meals being cooked. Friendly staff. We enjoyed our meals and the choices of flavours for sauces. I love spicy and finally a place that has more than enough heat for me! Keto option too. They suggested we review on google and I had to subtract a star only because they did not tell us about the loyalty program. I just saw it on the website. So my $60 purchase could have earned me free food there at my next visit but now counts for nothing so I’m sad about that. Other restaurants had waiting lists to get in which is how we came here as it’s immediate. Ate in a comfy booth. They must have a liquor licence and are open late another bonus plus close to home, shopping, and major intersection so convenient. Prices are decent and we ate our fill. Will be back. that little rumble in your tummy will be satisfied! as Franky said I did it MY WAY! you choose! you build! & select your hotness level! Bring on the SIZZLE! add a little DRIZZLE of spice! sooo quick! Good fun place to stop when those famous words are going I'm hungry!! Place is lit! Fun murals make you proud to be a Manitoban Man! the bubble teas & lemonade are quenchers!! put on TO DO list in Winnipeg to do over & over again!
