Dr Morton was our daughters' pediatrician from 1988 - 1992, when we lived in Lake Ariel. For some reason, I happened to think of him this morning. He was wonderful, especially with our younger daughter who had some complex medical issues. He was caring, patient, and skilled and listened. We are grateful! Our daughter is now 40 years old and has had many doctors and specialists, but Dr. Morton stands out among them.
Dr. Morton is very knowledgeable, kind, and has a remarkable amount of patience with me as a parent who had lots of questions. Never rushes us out of the office. Dr. Morton does a great job of explaining the ages and stages of children and what to expect. The staff are professional, helpful, and kind. I would recommend this office. Jenn the office manager is always kind and so sweet to all the children. You can tell the stuff actually like their jobs.
This physician and his office staff failed to detect the "severe" coarctation of the aorta of my son for over a period of 10 years. You trust your pediatric staff to do a thorough examination during physicals of infants, toddlers, and children. Pediatric Practices of Sterling and Dr. Morton failed to detect this congenital heart defect for 10 years !!! It took a newly assigned Nurse Practitioner and my child's complaints of chest pain to finally get to a cardiologist who immediately diagnosed the issue when he could not find a femural pulse. Thankfully, my son was directed to Hershey Medical Center where he received a surgical graft to repair his aorta. The surgeon told us his aorta was the size of a coffee straw. A defect that severe should have been discovered. His issue may not have been as invasive had it been detected and corrected earlier in life. I do not recommend this doctor or office for your pediatric needs. I believe they were complacent with our provided care and they deserve this review.
Vaccinate your children, otherwise, your children will pay for your failure towards them. I'm delighted that a doctors office have the courage to set "parents" straight. Obviously vaccination work...I don't have polio. Additionally, much of the time Coarctation of the Aorta have no symptoms and the condition often isn't detected until adulthood. Funny how people only listen to the first part of a condition.
Finally transferring my son to a new doctors office. The doctor's are fine, but the staff are terrible! If you need an appointment because you child is sick, you have to call the morning of, you can't call the night before to make an appointment for the next day. AND when you call the next day as soon as they open, don't be surprised to be told "we're booked up til Friday." Which is funny, since they say they can only book same day. Today, called this morning to make an appointment for my son afterschool around 3:30 to have a spot on his arm checked out- told them I knew i wouldn't be able to see his actual PCP since he only has appointments til 2:30 [yeah a pediatrician who doesn't have afterschool appointments] - and that I didn't mind who saw him i just needed someone to look at him- they told me that was fine and to just bring him down after he got off the bus... took him down there at 3:35 to be scolded on how i "missed m 2:30" appointment" and that they would "try and squeeze me in" - i've now been sitting here an hour with my special needs son, while several others have arrived, been seen, and left all before me- all because the staff wants to say i made a 2:30 appointment.- what a joke. Save yourself the trouble- go elsewhere.
Had to give a Star so I can write a review. I don't recommend this office to anyone. My children were kicked out of this office because I refused to vaccinate them. They told me they will get everyone sick lol my children weren't sick even in the slittest and if other people in the office had the vaccinations what the hell are you worried about. I guess vaccinations don't work then smh.
