Amy was polite, professional and extremely empathetic when saying goodbye to a beloved family member. Being able to send our Dog off at home without the clinical nature of a busy vet was beautiful and a service I'd highly recommend.
Amy was truly amazing in helping us to say goodbye to our beloved Milly who was a very special part of our family for almost 18 years. My heart is broken at losing her but Amy helped to give Milly a peaceful and dignified passing after entering advanced stages of heart failure. From start to finish, Amy was extremely gentle and showed such compassion it has helped a lot in our grieving process. My little best friend is at peace and I hope she knows how loved she is.
I rang PAP at 730am in the morning and woke Amy up. It was time for our William to leave us. Amy arrived on time, was compassionate and the process although heartbreaking was handled in a fashion I will never not be thankful for. Thank you Amy and PAP. Our William went as he lived, happy and surrounded by his loved ones.
We lost our beloved german shepherd named Royal 5 days after he turned 11 in March this year. He was diagnosed with a very aggressive Degenerative Myelopathy. From seeing him follow us around especially with food in our hands to us lifting him on a blanket from the living room to our bedroom was heartbreaking. He couldn't even pee without us holding his hips with a harness. We knew it was difficult but he had to make the hardest decision we ever had to make. Losing a pet is a different kind of unimaginable heartache, and I don't think you'll ever get over it. We are so glad we stumbled upon Doc Amy and Paws at Peace. Royal didn't have to experience the uncomfortable trip to the vet during his last few hours with us. Doc Amy came over to help us send Royal to Pet Heaven. She was very gentle, never rushed us and gave us as much time as we needed to deal with the process. Royal died in our living room, comfortable and not distressed at all. While it was gut wrenching having to put him down, it was also done beautifully and respectfully by Doc Amy. She went above and beyonf for us, and for that, we will always be grateful.
This was one of the best decisions I've ever made for my boy. Initially it was a difficult decision and Dr Amy was really helpful over the phone and didn't place any pressure on me. She told me that if I had any doubt at all, then I should wait, which I did for another week until I felt more confident in my decision. Dr Amy came to our house and explained the entire process clearly and gave us space when we needed it. My 17-year-old boy went so peacefully that he looked like he was just sleeping. I am so grateful for Dr Amy's utmost care from the moment she stepped into the house to when she placed my boy in a fluffy bed in the boot of her car. Thanks Amy.
Whilst my heart is breaking Paws at Peace provided the perfect way to say goodbye to my beautiful Poppy. Poppy had a long life and was 16 and 1/2 but recently her health started to fail and she became deaf, blind and showed signs of dementia. Poppy looked lost and very unhappy. She had been a wonderful friend and I wanted to make sure her passing was kind and gentle. Dr Amy was the perfect person she was kind and gentle with both me and Poppy. I sat on the couch in the sunlight holding Poppy as she passed away quietly. Thank you Dr Amy.
This will be the hardest phone call you will ever have to make in your life. Choosing the right person to call is tough. Yesterday we decided to call Paws at Peace due to their tremendous reviews. The first call was made and everything was explained to us, the best options for our situation, how it would happen and when they could send Dr Amy to us. We had a few hours to spend our last special moments together. On arrival, I was so scared of what to expect and how the whole procedure would happen and how i could cope with seeing this. I was dreading this moment . Dr Amy arrived exactly on time and I burst into tears when we opened the door. Dr Amy had the most calming demeanour about her and I was instantly put at ease. Dr Amy gave Tango a treat and they immediately bonded. We had a lovely conversation about his life, and discussed what would be the most comfortable way for him to pass, she had a couple of options depending on his character and tolerance to people prodding him. It was all about him. Dr Amy explained exactly what would happen, Dr Amy gave us plenty of space to say our last goodbyes and went into another room to prepare meds. She did not rush us, and we told her when we were ready. We fed him his favourite treats in his bed, and within 30 seconds he was peacefully sedated, and then another 30 seconds he was gone, with us cuddling him. No pain. So peaceful. Amy brought a beautiful fur blanket, we wrapped him up and carried him to her car, where there was a beautiful big comfy bed waiting for him. The electric tailgate closed and we waved him away, knowing he will be treated and handled with the utmost of dignity untill he is cremated and we can scatter his ashes in his favourite park. I cannot recommend Paws at Peace more to make the hardest day of your life that little bit easier. Thank you from the bottom of our heart Dr Amy.
Trust me after using Paws at Peace there is no other option! From the initial phone call to Angelique we knew we made the right choice, this was only magnified when Dr Amy came out to our home to put our old fella at peace. On the a sunny day on the lawn in his favourite spot with our whole family around him Dr Amy made our most difficult ever decision as easy as such a heartwrenching decision can be. She was extremely mindful of our kids who were present and was super affectionate to my old buddy, i'm extremely grateful. They followed up with phone calls and delivered his ashes personally to us soon after. For such an important decision there is no alternative. Thankyou!
I knew I had to do it. Oaty was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma twice. After beating this cancer both times, and being in remission for 4 years, my little fighter was unfortunately diagnosed with yet another cancer; an osteosarcoma deep in his ribs with lung metastasis. Choosing Dr Amy was the greatest decision for this important time in our lives. Dr Amy told us the process and she was an absolutely lovely vet. So empathetic and kind. She first asked us questions about Oaty and his life, questions about the disease and was so compassionate, yet realistic with his disease progression. She took time to tell us exactly how the process of euthanasia went and answered all my questions, reassuring me at every step of the way. She understood the pain we were going through and didn’t rush us while we said our goodbyes. She even organised Oaty’s cremation per my request and that he stay tucked in his bed and with his toy bunny the whole way through. Thanks to Dr Amy, Oaty was able to pass in a peaceful and painless way. He was in my arms, surrounded by family, watching us reminisce about his life with laughter and love before we said our final goodbyes. He was calm throughout and the last thing he would have seen was me kissing his forehead. Thank you Dr Amy, you let Oaty end his 14 years in the most beautiful way. Oaty went out with a bang.
Dr Amy and her team provided us a compassionate professional service. She helped us manage a painful experience with respect and gentleness. I loved that our precious Gigi was in capable and caring hands during her last moments. Thank you
