Paul's Place

If you're in the Kankakee area, you have to stop at Paul's Place. The food is great, the portions are just as great, huge beer selection and very good prices. The staff is top notch as well. Even when you're from out of town they make you feel like you're one of the regulars. I will for sure be one of the from out of town regulars.

200 types of beer but no beer snobs and great food. Asked the waiter to pick a good beer for Us and he did right away. They had 3 types of soup and 8 different desserts. Really diverse menu. Sandwiches, burgers, pasta. From the outside it wasn't impressive but looked like a smart crowd coming out... locals and all ages, not just a trendy crowd so we gave it a try. My boyfriend didn't want to come with me to visit my friends but after we ate here, he said he would come as long as we came here to eat next time. The staff was just the nicest, most down to earth people. The interior was very dated but with the food and service so good, you feel it's part of the places charm by the time u leave. We tried the deep fried avocado and even my bf ate it who won't eat avocados. One of my favorite touches that most restaurants overlook is homemade ranch dressing. This place does it... for u ranch dressing connoisseurs. Lol

Very unfriendly staff. The food wasn't hot. We had to shoo the flies away from our table.I will not be eating there again.
