Delightful French cafe on the main street in Great Barrington. One can enjoy a simple beverage, a delicious lunch, or indulge in the scrumptious fresh cakes and pastries. Usually a good selection of homemade soups too. Order and pick up from main counter. Decent amount of close quarter seating. Prices reflect quality of food. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Outdoor seating in warmer months.

The two men working were not welcoming, they seemed new. The one was on the phone the other forgot the coffee we ordered. We were not greeted and the food was average. Considering the distance to a big city it is deemed the best around...also the food had condensation on it which appears it was frozen. Would not suggest. Tart, coffee, a cookie bar equals 19.80. Yeah horrible.

Usually love this place but I ordered a salad nicoise and it was so depressing. Not at all what I expected and not at all French. Certainly not worth the cost of $13.00. Three outer romaine lettuce leaves with brown edges, a few string beans, half a small cooked potato, hard boiled egg and canned tuna dumped on the middle of the plate with a few olives and two baguette slices. I guess what I'm getting at is there was no care in presentation which the French are famous for. They could have done a better job. Also, I sat at a table that had used plates and glasses from the previous diners who should have bussed them. I was hoping the waiter who delivered my salad would remove everything, but he ignored all. Like I said, could have easily done a better job!

We just had lunch at this place and was very disappointed. My husband had the turkey brioche sandwich and there was literally one slice of cheese and one slice of turkey on the sandwich. Not exactly overstuffed! I had the beet and goat cheese salad and I wouldn't say it filled me up either! The pastries looked delicious, just don't expect to be walking away satisfied if you have either the turkey sandwich or the beet salad.
