I had a free consultation with Mr. Pater about a custody matter a decade ago. He appears a bit eccentric, perhaps it's his taste in eyeglasses that seals the deal, but regardless: I was grateful to be there. I, too, am called an Eccentric by most, and I, too, have a fondness for Big Bold Black eyewear, so it was perfect. I don't know Mr. Pater personally at all. But he used to be from the firm named: "Coup, Pater, Van Alsburg." I think Brad Knoll was a partner there too. I am a Big Fan of Bill Coup and Justice Jon Van Alsburg -- and Judge Knoll, so, based on his friends alone, I'd say Mr. Pater gets 5 Stars, just by Association.

Ray, thank you for all of your help during a lengthy and rough case. The compassion and truthfulness you provided me was the single most largest asset to helping me through it all. I completely disagree with the negative reviewer's comments from last week. Those comments do not sound like Ray at all. Compared to other attorneys I've had experience with, Ray's professionalism, costs, and above-and-beyond human interactions top all others. Communication was always timely, even while he was away from the office. Ray is truly on top of his game. He is a rare and exceptional gem among attorneys. I'd recommend him any time.

Ray, let me take this opportunity to express my appreciation for your professional advice and personal support to me during this ordeal. I recall meeting with you a few years back to prepare our wills, you again displayed the people side of building trust first and then moving into the legal arena. As a Change Management/Leadership Consultant having worked with companies both stateside and abroad, I realized that success is due to building relationships through trust first. That is, the ability to listen,understand and provide direction....you are the best. Thanks again, Dale

Before hiring Mr. Pater, I didn't have much confidence with my case. Not only has Ray given me confidence with his phenomenal knowledge of the law, but he is passionate and understanding as well. I have a rather interesting case as I appear over the phone for all of my hearings due to me being located on the other side of the country, but he has done more than enough to keep me informed and appear on my behalf. I couldn't have asked for a better lawyer to support me while dealing with a difficult case. When someone describes a lawyer as a "shark" I think of this guy, because the way the he is able to portray himself and who he is representing is just what one would hope for. If you want someone to give every effort towards your case, while being real with you and helping you understand it, this is your guy!
