Stumbled upon this place while on the hunt for Jamaican soup after 11pm. I was surprised to find a Caribbean place open this late but they had chicken soup so we checked it out. The place is definitely on the dingy side but the soup was decent. The flavour was a bit “off” and had more of a kick than I was looking for personal preference. I probably would not return.
Great Jamaican food. You must go check this place out at least once. I got the curry goat and the stew beef.. amazing! Portions are huge! Great quality and quantity.
One of my favourite places to get jerk chicken from when I’m downtown. The portions here are massive and the flavour is amazing. The prices here are great for the amount of food and the quality of food. The rice is always good and pairs perfectly with the warm, fresh, flavoured chicken. In addition the coleslaw that comes with it ties everything together. I have been here many times and always enjoy it. Parking here is not hard to find either.
I took a visit to Pat’s after seeing Dj Khaled rave about it on Instagram quoting it’s one of the best meals he ever had. Someone might have payed him to say that because the food was mediocre/mid at best. The beef patty was average but that’s okay since most Toronto establishments usually purchase from suppliers. They really dropped the ball on their opportunity to shine with the jerk chicken, the meat lacked flavour, was dry and rubbery. I had requested for some oxtail gravy in hopes of bringing more flavour to the rice and peas and chicken but the server must have been sleepy or stingy because there was hardly any of it. I had to play hide and seek with the oxtail gravy. The only minor positive experience was the sea-moss drink which had a great flavour and interesting texture. Overall, I must have came in on a wrong day or the more presumable reason being that this place is over rated.
Got a large jerk chicken for $15. Both quality and quantity wise, it was really good. The ambience is not so good. This place accepts only Debit card and cash. The staff is very nice and humble. I totally recommend this place to everyone.
This place is as authentic as you could imagine. The food was very delicious and the portion size is fair and quite spicy. The price however isn't great considering what you're getting. At about 15$ a meal my expectation was quite higher. Maybe they have had better prices in the past cause of the price rating but now considering the location and everything this is not worth the price.
Decent Jamaican spot. Festivals were warm, subtly sweet but the texture was very tough. You can tell they were sitting out for a little while. The jerk chicken was well-seasoned and was falling off of the bone. But I wish they served it with more gravy because it got dry near the end. The rice & peas had really good spice on the type but were pretty dry near the bottom. The coleslaw was the perfect side to balance it all out. And when they ask if you want a small or large — get the large.
Ordered one beef identified with red dot and one chicken identified with green dot. Beef had a nice spicy kick. Chicken, I'm not convinced it is chicken and they may have given me a veggie instead? Anyhow, both were flaky but inside meats were a tad mushy. This is definitely a no nonsense joint. You are not going for five star service nor are you going to get any.
The food is legit. Mild beef patties were good. Curry chicken was good as well. Service was abrasive, but it's worth it for the food.
Some of the best Jamaican food I’ve had by far!! It’s super tasty, the oxtail and jerk chicken are both equally to die for. Ask for the oxtail gravy on top of your order!! It makes the rice so much better!! The coleslaw is okay, I’ve had better but it’s refreshing from the meat and rice! Highly recommend!!! The large is enough for two meals!! My boyfriend and I ordered a large and it lasted us the whole day!
